Defiance

There are 2 bands with the name Defiance: (1) Defiance is a thrash metal band from Oakland, California. While virtually unknown to mainstream metal and rock circles, Defiance is known as one of the classic second-tier thrash bands to come from the Bay Area thrash metal scene. They played a decidedly technical style of thrash originally evoking bands like Testament, though they would later move on to playing in their own unique, more progressive thrash style. They reformed in 2005 and have since release an album entitled The Prophecy in late 2009.

Citizen Fish

Citizen Fish are a ska-punk band formed in 1989. Based around Bath, England, the original members were Dick Lucas (vocals/words), Jasper (bass), Trotsky (drums), and Larry (guitar). Following their first album, Free Souls in a Trapped Environment, Larry left the band and was replaced by Phil, who, along with Dick and Trotsky, had previously been a member of the seminal British punk band, the Subhumans. Jasper and Dick had previously played together in Culture Shock. In 2006 Silas replaced Trotsky, who is still playing with the Subhumans.

Subhumans

There are two equally long-lived punk bands with the name Subhumans, one from the UK and one from Canada: 1) Subhumans (UK): An anarcho-punk band formed in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, UK in 1979 by Dick Lucas, who had formerly been in local bands including The Mental and Stupid Humans. The band released a demo in 1981 which was heard by members of the band Flux of Pink Indians after being sent to them by Graham Burnett of New Crimes fanzine, who were so impressed that they offered the Subhumans a chance to put out a record on their newly formed Spiderleg label.

Włochaty

Polish anarcho-punk band. Włochaty is in a strong position on the polish punk scene. Włochaty played their first concert in 1987 as Włochaty Odkurzacz. In 1991, as Włochaty, the group recorded their first tape - For Sale. It was sent to Jarocin Festival but without a result... In 1993 they performed in Jarocin and were a success. Since then their popularity was growing... Włochaty - line-up:

Uprising

There are several bands under the name of Uprising. One was an anarcho-punk/crust influenced band from Michigan from 2002-2005. They had two official releases, an EP and a split EP with Contravene, and recorded a total of 13 songs, 5 of which have never been released. Their webspace is now defunct but their Myspace.com profile still exists.
