There are at least 14 bands named Mirage. 1) Mirage released numerous cover version megamixes of current pop hits during the eighties. Many of them were produced by Nigel Wright, sometimes together with Nigel Stock, John Davies & Robin Sellars. Mirage also had three vocalists that posed on the record-covers: Kiki Billy, Nicos Griffiths & Carlos Griffiths. 2) A cult hungarian new/darkwave band from the '80s.
Led Er Est emerged from a series of jam sessions that core members Shawn O’Sullivan and Sam De La Rosa started having in early 2007, using bass guitar, some cheap drum machines, and synths. They were inspired to record music largely by ’70s synth prog, and ’80s lo-fi electronic and industrial music. They recorded a number of songs at friend Will Burnett’s studio that fall. Their first officially released track was on the Wierd Records compilation, Analogue Electronic Music Vol II. Owen Hutchinson joined the band for their first live show at the Wierd party that December.
Influenced by their punk upbringing, avant-garde schooling, and no wave surroundings in early 80s NYC,- but not beholden to any genre - Ike Yard managed to create a new sound.
By tapping into equal parts the krautrock experimentation of Can, the Neue Deutsche Welle of DAF and the UK post-punk dub of PiL and Joy Division they created sounds and songs unique enough to catch the attention of Factory Records, who made them their first American signing.
Not this Body Electric. The Body Electric's first show, in December 2005, featured, in part, two drummers, a rhodes keyboard, a Spanish guitar, a mandolin, a violin, a banjo, a melodica and a glockenspiel. This seemingly unlikely combination of sounds was harnessed into a powerful pop performance that foreshadowed what the ever-evolving collective had in store.
The band was originally conceived as a full power space rock outfit and inadvertent tribute to Issac Asimov by singer/guitarist Sam Cooper (formerly of local act Francophone) in summer 2005.

1. John Paul Young, is an Australian pop singer, known primarily for his worldwide hit Love Is In The Air. Born on June 21, 1950, in Glasgow, Scotland, his family relocated to Sydney when he was aged 11. After forming the band Elm Tree with schoolmates in 1967, he was discovered by renowned talent manager Simon Napier-Bell, who convinced his to sign as a solo artist with Albert Productions. It was here he began his long association with songwriters and record producers Harry Vanda and George Young of The Easybeats.
