The Floor
There are three bands by the name of the Floor. One is a band based in Dundee, Scotland. Another is from Edmonton, Alberta foursome The Floor released a series of LP's and EP's culminating with Personnel, an extension of the band's flirtation with noise rock like Ride and the dance rock of Interpol and bands of that ilk. The band are on again off again, although they are opening for Trans Am in a few weeks, indicating the shoegazers are indeed on again. Darkroom
(1) An indie rock band from Winona Lake, Indiana. Five friends demonstrating an expression of eloquent chord progressions overlayed with dynamic instrumentation and pleasant vocal melodies - creating melodically driven musical movements containing elements of intensity as well as delicacy. Sex Education
Sex Education are an electro-guitar racket based in Liverpool, UK. Band members are Chris Ward (vocals, bass, synth), Kai Sheen (guitars), Zoe Alex (synth) and Chris Bartlett (drums). Sex Education have recently completed a 10 track album, "Give Me Sex Education" which is available to listen to in full here on Last FM. It includes an exclusive collaboration with Stephen Morris of New Order/ Joy Division- the first time Morris has appeared on record away from his own seminal bands.

Spock's Beard
Spock's Beard is a progressive rock band formed in 1992 in Los Angeles by brothers Neal and Alan Morse. Neal (keyboards/vocals) and Alan (guitars) were joined by fellow musicians Nick D'Virgilio (Nick D'Virgilio, drums - also known as NDV) and Dave Meros (bass), and were later joined by veteran keyboardist Ryo Okumoto. Spock's Beard play a brand of progressive rock with pop music leanings, drawing much influence from Genesis and The Beatles. They are also well known for their intricate multi-part vocal harmonies and use of counterpoint much in the vein of Gentle Giant.
Bobbie Peru
Bobbie Peru was created in Manchester (UK) January 2006. The American lead singer/guitarist Bert Genovese relocated from Atlanta, Georgia to continue his musical career with Storm Records. Bert was a recording artist with Atlanta based band Adom who were signed to Storm. The band split after the release of their debut album. Bert (Lead Vocal/Guitarist) released an EP of solo acoustic work under the name 'Bobbie Peru' in 2006 and then teamed up with local musical talents, Ding (PJ Harvey/The Fall/Frank Black) on bass and the mysterious Dr.E on drums.
Lord John
Lord John was an American Bomp! Records band in the late 1980s. Their sound has been compared to that of Echo & The Bunnymen, yet with enough psychedelia in the mix to often have them touted as part of the then emerging paisley underground movement, which was gaining momentum on both the West Coast, as well in the New York underground. Their debut album "Six Days of Sound" (1986) was praised by critics [1].
Mental As Anything
Mental As Anything is an Australian New Wave/rock music band who, since the late 70s have released numerous albums & singles and have produced many innovative music videos. Although they have worked in a much broader musical idiom, Mental As Anything are in many respects comparable to British band Madness, in that their music is typically delivered with a quirky, ironic sense of humour and a strong visual identity.
Spandau Ballet
Spandau Ballet are a popular British band most prominent during the 1980s. Members are Tony Hadley on vocals, brothers Gary Kemp and Martin Kemp on guitar and bass respectively, with Gary also supplying background vocals, Steve Norman on saxophone and John Keeble on the drums. Gary Kemp also wrote most of the group's music and lyrics. Initially formed in 1976 in London they didn't reach a stable line-up or decide on the Spandau name until 1978.
