DJ Maestro

DJ Maestro, alias Martijn Barkhuis (Groningen, 1970), is een nederlandse discjockey, componist en arrangeur. Hij organiseerde onder meer de Dig This!-avonden en de Blue Note Trip compilaties die hij samenstelde voor het jazzlabel Blue Note Records. Drie maanden na zijn geboorte trok Barkhuis met zijn ouders, die in Groningen studeerden, weg uit de gemeente. Hierna woonde hij onder meer in Emmen en Arnhem. Van zijn zevende tot zevenentwintigste speelde Barkhuis viool, onder andere bij het Nederlands Studentenorkest. Hij volgde een masterclass bij Theo Olof.

Andrew Hill

Andrew Hill (born June 30, 1931 – April 20, 2007) was an American jazz pianist and composer. Hill first recorded as a sideman in 1955, but his reputation was made by his Blue Note recordings as leader from 1963 to 1969, which featured several other important post-bop musicians including Eric Dolphy, Bobby Hutcherson, Joe Henderson, Freddie Hubbard, Woody Shaw, and Tony Williams, as well as two of John Gilmore's rare outings away from Sun Ra.

She is the first person in musical history to successfully create and sustain a full-time career as a percussion solo performer. As one of the most eclectic and innovative musicians on the scene today she is constantly redefining the goals and expectations of percussion, and creating performances of such vitality that they almost constitute a new type of performance.

Ingram Marshall (born May 10, 1942 in Mount Vernon, New York) is an American composer and a former student of Vladimir Ussachevsky and Morton Subotnick. He is best known for his electronic works and for his layered, atmospheric compositions which incorporate acoustic elements ranging from fog horns to cathedral bells. Marshall's works have been recorded by artists ranging from the Kronos Quartet, Theater of Voices, and Bang-on-A-Can All Stars to the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the San Francisco Orchestra.

Glenn Branca

Glenn Branca (born October 6, 1948 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania) is an composer and guitarist. Branca studied theater at Emerson College in Boston in the early 1970s. While there, he began experimenting with sound as the founder of an experimental theater group called Bastard Theater. He moved to New York in 1976. His first encounter with the NYC music scene was with the N.DoDo Band whom he observed many times at their rehearsal space- Phil Demise's Gegenschein Vaudeville Placenter. This is where he first met jeffrey lohn who was playing electric violin with the N.

Russ Garcia

Russell Garcia is a motion picture composer born April 12, 1916 in Oakland, California. Self-taught, his break came when he substituted for an ill colleague on a radio show. Subsequently, he went on to become composer/arranger at NBC Studios (for such shows as Rawhide and Laredo), MGM and Universal Studios. He collaborated with Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald on many of their albums (doing arrangements and conducting their orchestras as needed.)

Antoine Beuger

Antoine Beuger (b. 1955 in Oosterhout, Netherlands) studied composition with Ton de Leeuw at Sweelinck Coservatorium in Amsterdam 1973-78.
In 1990 he began composing after an interruption of about 10 years. Two years later he founded Edition Wandelweiser together with composer/performer Burkhard Schlothauer.
Since 1994 he's been active with the conception and organisation of KLANGRAUM, a concert series at Kunstraum Düsseldorf. During the years 1995-2001 he was working together with visual artist Mauser as artistic director of "Werkraum", Place for Interdisciplinary Artistic Events, Cologne.

Franz Waxman

Franz Waxman (December 24, 1906 – February 24, 1967) was a Jewish German American composer, known for his bravura Carmen Fantasie for violin and orchestra, based on musical themes from the Bizet opera Carmen, and for his musical scores for films. Waxman was born Franz Wachsmann in Königshütte (Chorzów) in the German Empire's Prussian Province of Silesia. He orchestrated Frederick Hollander's score for the 1930 film Blue Angel (1930) and wrote original scores for several German films in the early 1930s.
