Number 9

Stefan Bruinsma (17-08-1982), a.k.a. Number 9, was born and raised in the north of the Netherlands in a city called Groningen. At the age of 9 he discovered music was his passion, and he took his first piano lessons shortly followed by his first guitar lessons. After developing as a musician he encountered people that shared his vision on making music and performing on stage. At the age of 18 he chose the Rockacademy in Tilburg to develop as an artist and entrepreneur in the music industry. Up till now his life resulted in the following music projects:

Beef!

Beef! is on the move with their latest release out. In fact, from the beginning of 1999, the band has never stood still. That year in the southern Dutch town of Eindhoven singer Pieter Both, (formerly of bands such as Gotcha!, Captain Cocktail and Ootop), formed a band with Hansz Deijnen on drums (who learned to handle the sticks in local bands such as City Pig Unit en Let's Quit) and Koen Lommerse on bass, (who played in both City Pig Unit and Gotcha!.)Their activities resulted in a radio show, The Chop Shop / 1.1gr.fm. Sessions.

Lucky Fonz III

Lucky Fonz III (real name: Otto Wichers) (1981) is a Dutch singer-songwriter, based in Amsterdam. His songs has been described as 'folksy and romantic'. In 2006, Lucky Fonz III won 'De Grote Prijs van Nederland' ('The Grand Prize of The Netherlands', Singer/Songwriter category), Holland's number one talent award. Thusfar he released three English-sung albums, followed by one album of Dutch-language material. Discography:

Close To You

Close II You was een Nederlandse meidengroep. De groep werd in 1996 bij elkaar gezocht door de producers Eeg van Kruysdijk en Ed van Otterdijk door middel van audities. In augustus van dat jaar scoren Natascha Scheffers, Sascha Koninkx, Nadja Nooijen, Sally Flissinger en Marsha van de Berg hun eerste hit met Nice & nasty. De groep wordt al gauw gezien als de Nederlandse tegenhanger van de Spice Girls.

The Suicidal Birds

The Suicidal Birds are two girls ( Jessie: vocals, guitar / Chay: bass guitar, vocals) from the northern province Friesland, the Netherlands. The release of their debut album “Z-List” early 2005 on the Dutch independent label Transformed Dreams caused rave reviews in the Netherlands and UK. Airplay on Dutch alternative radio, BBC radio-one, xfm and on live webcast programme on dirty Radio by Rick Smith and Karl Hyde from Underworld, press- attention and extensive touring in the Netherlands and the UK ( more tours followed).

Flamborough Head

Flamborough Head has existed since the beginning of the nineties. Keyboard player Edo Spanninga felt it was time to start a band which would make progressive rockmusic, a musical flow which was nearest to Edo’s heart but in which he had never been active before. Frans Wolf (keyboards & drumcomputing) and Wiebe Wolf (guitars), both former members of Saga oriented progband Made in Holland, were interested in writing and recording. Along with Siebe Rein Schaaf (vocals) they went on as a quartet.

Mondvolland

Mondvolland stands for black metal with a unique and non-typical character, combining both scream, lower grunt and different styles of clean vocals. The lyrics and atmosphere of the music bring back olden times of the birthplace of its founding members. Having started out as a more folk-focused concept in 2006, Mondvolland, since 2010 a solid foursome, stands for a more atmospheric and layered side of black metal. For live shows, energy and dedication are keywords.

Flyte

Flyte were a Dutch/Flemish progressive rock group active from circa 1975-1981 (with a brief reunion in 1984 for a special concert). They released an album in 1979 (Dawn Dancer) and a single in 1980. 2. Flyte was also the name of a group with Chris Hillman, Gene Clark, Herb Pederson, Al Perkins, Trey Thompson.
Obscure? Forgotten? I have only a bootleg (2 sets) for an 8/12/1982 in The Palomino, LA show and a concert at the Palomino. (different songlist)

Perhaps it was her musical training or just innate ability, but it was apparent from the start that Laura Totten aka, Sage’s musical sensibilities made her an exceptional DJ. Having started her musical endeavors at the age of 4, the first instrument Sage played was the piano. Her love of music, and talent had her soon graduating to the violin at the age of 6.
