Formed in 2008, when David Harris joined long standing friends, Will Nagle, Rob Byrom and Matt Love. Nagle had been determined to bring the bass back in to Manchester bands and teamed up with school friend, Byrom, who would knock out beats to match the fury of Nagle’s. With Love on vocals, a new Manc front-man was born.

The band released three albums - Smart, The It Girl and Pleased To Meet You - and split in 1998.

John Cooper Clarke

John Cooper Clarke (born January 25, 1949) is a performance poet from Salford, Greater Manchester , England, affectionately known as the Bard of Salford. He is often referred to as a punk poet, having initially achieved recognition in the late 1970s amidst the flourishing punk movement. His recorded output has mainly centred around musical backing The Invisible Girls, featuring Martin Hannett, Pete Shelley, Bill Nelson and Steve Hopkins. The song "Evidently Chickentown" became known to a wide audience through its use in the final season of the TV show The Sopranos

Attak

Formed in early 1981 in New Mills, Manchester, as a four piece band, Attak reverted to a trio when their singer left for school commitments. They released two singles in this form, with Lindsay, sister of Mackie from Blitz, being the drummer. A new guitarist was recruited for their album before they split up in late 1983. Gary later turned up in a revamped Blitz and provided the vocals on their "Killing Dream" album. Gary and Lindsay married in 1985.

Herman's Hermits

Herman's Hermits was an internationally successful 60s British band, from Manchester, England, formed in 1963. Part of the British Invasion, their trademark simple, non-threatening, clean-cut "boys next door" image made them easier to listen to and more accessible than other British Invasion bands. Their first hit, "I'm Into Something Good", was produced by Mickie Most, reaching #1 in the UK (1963) and #13 in the US (1964). Other hits followed such as "Mrs. Brown, You've Got a Lovely Daughter" (1965) and "I'm Henry VIII, I Am".

About BROKE’N’£NGLISH Strategy (a.k.a. John Major) picked up a microphone aged 11, rocked youth clubs at 12, met Mikey Don from Krispy 3 at 16 and the future was written. The MC seed was planted and very soon a career began to sprout!
Strategys talents were respected early on; his first guest appearance being alongside Roots Manuva on the Track Trade Study which featured on the LP From the Country.

They played live together around Manchester, UK a lot in the 90's, earning regular regional radio play, pockets of critical acclaim and a release on Tony Wilson's factory too (fac 2.02). Having gone their separate ways for over a decade (in which period Conroy released two albums 'Cheap Shots and 'Royal Shit' under the moniker 'Superqueens' with Salford electronica/beats composer Bruce Magill)...
