Uranium Lake

"The day I discovered Uranium Lake, I kind of felt like I had been let in on a very special secret... They didn't have inflated egos, they didn't have eccentric fashion, and they would never shouts their mouths off in the NME, but this was a band to treasure. They wrote straight-forward old-fashioned jangly indie-pop songs. Their influences were worn firmly on their sleeve (The Smiths and The Go-Betweens being two of note) but this was something that just made them more honest and refreshing, rather than detract from their greatness.

The Autonomads

D.I.Y Dub Punk band, started in Manchester 07. 5 piece band with political agenda. For listeners of bands like aos3, P.A.I.N, inner terrestrials, headjam, king tubby, zounds. A lot of the band's lyrics and actions are political. They often play benifit gigs to raise money or awareness for good issues. They aim to release their album using recycled materials, and eventually will do this with shirts.

Dan Drury

Dan is a home grown singer songwriter from Ashton Under Lyne, Manchester. He creates quirky, melody driven, foot tappers from his back bedroom. With many failed atempts at a band Dan relies on his ability to get a noise out of most instruments he plays. This keeps his tracks fresh and even with only one artist playing the tracks have a lot of ideas crammed in. Dan's music doesnt mess around. If he can get his sarcy messages across in 2 minutes then so be it. There are some obvious influences that can be heard but I cant really hear anything robbed directly.
