Dead Meadow

Dead Meadow met in the DC punk/indie scene, though their music draws from more faraway sources. The band formed in the fall of 1998 from the ashes of local bands The Impossible Five and Colour, when singer-guitarist Jason Simon, bassist Steve Kille, and drummer Mark Laughlin set out to fuse their love of early 70's hard rock and 60's psychedelia with their love of writers J.R.R. Tolkien and H.P. Lovecraft.

Shellshag

Shellshag: www.myspace.com/shellshag Shellshag is a spastic, minimal, two-piece, rock band spewing the sound and tradition of old punk with the feeling and noise of no wave; their music and live shows are very unpredictable. These minimalists have a thunderous sound and an innovative approach. It seems that after more than ten years of shredding instruments they have mastered their tools and song writing techniques. Their noisy, pop hooks have catchy phrasing, tune and melody; their noise infiltrates these hooks and words, creating a very ambiguous sound that enhances their image.

Destroyer

There is more than one performer with the name Destroyer. 1) Dan Bejar started Destroyer as a solo home-recording experiment in the early to mid 90s. Working alone, and at his own pace, Bejar dabbled in four tracking and worked to develop his style and vision. He was meticulous in reworking songs again and again until he found confidence in his music and his voice. By 1996 he had culled enough material to release his debut full length, We’ll Build Them A Golden Bridge. Stripped down lo-fi electric folk, Golden Bridge introduced Dan as a major new talent in Vancouver.

Clunes

Somewhere, very far away and very hard to find, there is a planet: Clunes.
This beautiful but turbulent planet is populated by organisms (Clunes) who live for exactly one day. Each day the Clunes wake, work, relax, procreate and then die, wiped out in an enormous global war.
The fallout from this intense daily activity echoes through space as waves of vibrational energy and - until recently - was only detectable by extremely sensitive computerized telescopes.
