John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne (born 3 December 1948) is an English singer-songwriter. Throughout an extraordinary career, which has so far spanned four decades, Osbourne has made major contributions to the worlds of music and popular culture. Osbourne rose to prominence as co-founder and lead singer for pioneering English heavy metal band Black Sabbath (1970-79, 1997 to 2008) he was, in effect, one of the chief architects of the genre, creating the powerful new sound and provocative performance style that would forever expand the definition of rock music.

Hot Snakes was an American post-hardcore band led by Rick Froberg and John Reis, formed in 1999. Reis and Froberg had previously performed together in Pitchfork and Drive Like Jehu while living in San Diego, CA during their youth. Although they share sonic similarities with bands its members had previously been involved with, Hot Snakes' sound was much more punk-influenced than Drive Like Jehu and Pitchfork.

Funkadelic was originally the backing band for the doo wop group, The Parliaments. The band was added in 1964, primarily for tours, and consisted of Frankie Boyce, Richard Boyce and Langston Booth. They enlisted in the army in 1966, and George Clinton (the leader of Parliament) recruited Billy Bass Nelson and Eddie Hazel in 1967, then also adding Tawl Ross and Tiki Fulwood.
