Artist Type:

Ken Stringfellow

Ken Stringfellow is most widely known as Jon Auer's partner in the Seattle-based "power pop" group, The Posies, but is also a well-respected artist and producer in his own right. Ken's solo career began with the 1997 release, This Sounds Like Goodbye and the low-fi, experimental feel of this album was a departure from the richness of The Posies sound. His second solo release, Touched, had the misfortune of a September 11, 2001 street date and as a result, did not receive the attention it deserved.

One Night Only

One Night Only are a UK indie pop rock band, from Helmsley, North Yorkshire. The band consists of singer and guitarist George Craig, guitarist and backing vocalist Mark Hayton, bassist Daniel Parkin, drummer Sam Ford and keyboardist and backing vocalist Jack Sails. Formed in 2003 (which seems an awfully long time ago when you consider that singer George has only just turned 18), One Night Only started out as a bunch of school friends ‘just making noise’ in their rural hometown of Helmsley, North Yorkshire.

Ha Ha Tonka

With a "Bible in one hand, broken bottle in the other" (Spin June '09) Ha Ha Tonka return with their sophomore effort on Bloodshot Records, Novel Sounds of the Nouveau South. The album takes listeners on a complex tour of the South—through lynchings and mob violence, sacrifice and reconciliation. It’s dense subject matter for any artist, but delivered beautifully on this record by these native sons of the Ozarks from Springfield, Missouri.

Artist Type:

Hayden

Combining elements of both rock and folk music, along with disturbingly personal sentiments, dark humor, and a voice able to channel both the falsetto highs of Neil Young and the wavering raspy low tones of Leonard Cohen, Toronto's Hayden Desser has spent the last 15 years creating uniquely affecting music. The critically acclaimed musician first appeared in the early '90s armed with only his four-track tape recorder, his unexpectedly low vocal range, and an extremely detuned guitar.
