Over the past decade, the hip-hop turntablist has gained immense popularity and mainstream recognition. No doubt, one deejay at the forefront of this movement is Queens-born JS-1. One half of the infamous team with Rahzel, ex-beatboxer of The Roots, JS-1 has released 3 albums, “Ground Original,” “Claimstake,” & “Audio Technician” through Fatbeats Distribution, Bomb Records and Studio Distribution.

There are 2 artists who go under the name of Etch 1. Etch is a 17 year old dubstep/2-step electronic producer from Brighton, gaining momentum in the current music blogosphere for his atmospheric textural garage and dubstep influences songs, big things are said to be on the horizon for Etch, being featured on Truantsblog, Kidcity and The Daily Bugle in the space of one month already. Custom

Custom (also known as Duane Lavold) is a Canadian-born, New York-based rock musician best known for his song "Hey Mister". Minor controversy erupted when the music video for the song "Hey Mister" was banned from MTV. The video follows a young woman as she frolicks on the beach, hangs out with the singer, and goes shopping. Despite the lack of sexually explicit visuals, the video was banned, the MTV Standards and Practices division felt that it was "pedophilic and offensive to women" (despite the fact that the actress was 22 at the time).

Rakim

Rakim (pronounced rah-KIM) (Born William Michael Griffin Jr. on January 28, 1968 in Long Island, New York) is an American rapper and pioneer of the musical genre of hip hop. He is consistently cited as one of the most skilled (and top amongst the most influential) MCs of all time due to his exceptional flow and complex lyrical craftsmanship, he revolutionized hip-hop lyricism with his complex flow, elaborate metaphors and rapid delivery.

Skillz

Skillz (formerly Mad Skillz, born Donnie Shaquan Lewis in Richmond, Virginia) is an African-American rapper. Known as a talented freestyle rapper, Skillz has not received widespread acclaim outside of the community, but within it is considered one of its best performers. He first made a name for himself by finishing in second place in a national freestyle competition in 1995, which resulted in a recording contract with Atlantic Records. Skillz' Atlantic debut, From Where???, and its single, The Nod Factor, were released in 1996, but sank without a trace.

1. A psychedelic rock band from US. Their first album, which was recorded in Florida, has become a collectors' item and is full of dual guitar work with the extended track Play the stand out song. They relocated to East Lansing, Michigan and Detroit to record their second album and whilst in Michigan they gigged with several local bands like The Rationals, The Woolies and Ormandy.
Joey Murcia was also connected with Florida bands. Ex-Birdwatchers and went on to play in Life. He later became a renowned studio musician, working with Jay Ferguson, Joe Cocker, the Bee Gees and Joe Walsh.
