Born in the rural area outside Berlin, Ruede Hagelstein moved to the centre of bleeping Berlin eight years ago. After jobs at night-guide magazines and starting his own partyforum www.restrealitaet.de, he finds himself in the middle of the electronic music.
His productions transformed from disco-electro to a more minimalistic house and techno sound, and were supported by Sven Vath and Michael Mayer. Ruede holds residencies in Berlin's Watergate club and Dusseldorf's Harpune.
Punks Jump Up are Londoner Joe Attard and Swede David Andersson. Taking a love of The Clash, 909s, Nike trainers and Stussy rings, they've pushed their sound in various directions, from punk-funk to speed garage. Best known as remixers (Gossip, Digitalism, Peter Bjorn and John), they've kept an album under wraps for a long time now, subject to constant revision as their style evolves. Releases include Be You (Cassette), and Dance To Our Disco (Kitsuné) featuring Pele from The Hives.
This is Kitsune the artist - not the label.
We Are Knights are a new band hailing from France. They are a three-piece band comprising of Jean-Marc Battalier, Guilhem Hatt and Gaelle Malandrone. With every track they produce this band impress me whether it’s a stripped down slow track with a compelling beat or a pulsating electronic track with punching sounds. The band have recently been part of the album Kituné Parisien II with their track Tears featuring at track number nine on the reputable Kitsuné compilation. It is a very impressive track which is already one of my favourite synth tracks so far this year.
We Have Band are Darren Bancroft, Dede W and husband Thomas W.
Médéric and Alexis are made of electricity and can be considered as the sons of electronic music. These two French guys from the Normandy countryside started producing music at home in their bedroom, in Caen. They first hit the danse floor with remixes of the likes of Noob & Brodinski – Peanuts Club and Major Lazer – Pon De Floor and we bet you’ll be crushed by their fresh and screamy productions.
