NOMO were conceived in 2003 when University of Michigan jazz studies graduate and multi-instrumentalist (tenor sax, keyboards, electric mbiri) Elliot Bergman and some of his acquaintances began jamming at an Ann Arbor, MI, house where many of them lived. This led to the eventual formation of the group, which recorded its self-titled EP on Ypsilanti Records that same year, after producer Warn Defever dared Bergman to bring as many people as he could to the studio.

1. Peter King (b. 1940) is an English jazz saxophonist, composer, and clarinettist. King was born in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey on 11th August 1940, and taught himself to play the clarinet at the age of fifteen, quickly switching to alto saxophone.

23 Skidoo

23 Skidoo cross , , , , and elements. The band had interests in martial arts, and drumming, Fela Kuti, The Last Poets, William S. Burroughs, as well as the emerging confluence of industrial music, and funk. 23 Skidoo was formed in North London, UK in 1979 as a post-punk trio. By 1980 they had grown into a quartet consisting of Fritz Catlin, Johnny Turnbull, Sam Mills and Patrick Griffiths.

Chad Jackson

Chad Jackson started behind the decks before it was even trendy to be a DJ, and today can be credited as one of the people that popularised the art of DJ Mixing and remixing around the world. He was one of the first ever globally known superstar DJs. Back in the late 80s, a flyer with his name on it meant queues outside clubs like Legends in Manchester and the infamous Wigan Pier. Chad was one of the first British DJ to start DJ mixing in the early 80s.

Osibisa

Osibisa, one of the most important jazz-rock bands ever, was founded in 1969 and made a very interesting fragment of musical history during 70s. Musicians from Ghana join jazz, funk, fusion, caribbean, r&b, latino and african rhythms. This legendary band from Ghana made 20 studio albums; Osibisa worked with many popular jazz musicians, Thin Lizzy, with Stevie Wonder and others. The best known albums are: Osibisa (1971), Woyaya (1971), and African Flight (1981).
