There are at least 5 bands named Fields: 1) Fields were an Anglo-Icelandic electronic/indie band formed in London comprising Nick Peill (Vocals/Acoustic Guitar/Keyboards), Þórunn Antonía (Vocals/Keyboards/Synths), Henry Spenner (Vocals/Drums), Matty Derham (Bass Guitar) and Jamie Putnam (Electric Guitar). In early 2006 the band played their first live shows. This sparked a furious bidding war amongst UK record companies. They eventually signed a unique deal with Atlantic Records which allows them to keep releasing records through their own Black Lab Records set-up as well as Atlantic.

School Of Language

School of Language is a pseudonym of Field Music's David Brewis. The album Sea From Shore was released during Field Music's break from band activities in 2008. A second solo record, Old Fears, will be released in April 2014. Both School of Language albums were self-produced at Field Music's studio in Sunderland in the north-east of England.

Motorifik

Motorifik is the side project of Phil Kay (Working for a Nuclear Free City) and French songwriter, Idrisse Khelifi, who met in Manchester in 2006. Like Working for a Nuclear Free City, Motorifik is interested playing with space and texture in their tunes, evoking a certain pastoral sensibility, as well as an obvious nod to their shoegazing forebearers. The idea with this group was to be a bit less experimental than WFANFC and a bit more rooted in a pure pop aestethic. Motorifik’s Secret Things releases 9 November 2010 via Modern Language Recordings.

Volcano Choir

Volcano Choir is an American indie band that started as a collaboration between Justin Vernon (of Bon Iver) and Collections of Colonies of Bees. Their debut album is Unmap and was released on September 22, 2009. It reached number 92 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. A second album, Repave, was released on September 3, 2013.
The project originally came together with songs being written in 2005. It was not recorded until the fall of 2008 in Fall Creek, Wisconsin, USA.
