Altered Natives

i was born in north london islington
to a trindadian father with a unfortunate drink problem and west indian temper (r.i.p)
and a italian religious fanatic mother
i spent my childhood what of it in hackney
left home at 16
got into a lot of trouble as you do runnin wild.
threw myself in the deep end and just made it out in time, before i probably got killed.
my whole life till 21 i was a artist and that was my source of creativity
i was a backdrop painter/flyer artist
till a friend back then had a massive anthem and i would witness thousands of people flippin out over this track.

Artist Type:

Addison Groove

Addison Groove is the jukin' alter-ego of Headhunter. Over the last 12 months he's become notorious for ripping through fierce sets of Chicago juke music; the mutant niche offspring of DJ Funk and Slugo's booty house designed to incite mindblowing dance moves from liquid-hipped quicksteppers. He takes the 808-derived percussion of juke proper and reconstitutes the groove at a 'step compatible 136 bpm, contrasting the 808's booming potential with hi-pitched toms and rapid-fire samples to make the dancefloor go f*cking spare.

Artist Type:

Zomby

Having appeared on the display of the dubstep radar somewhere in 2007, Zomby has firmly established himself during 2008 as one of those, who fucks the D pidgeon holes right up to bonkers. Be it a classic "as good as it gets" formula Spliff (both musically and sample-wise), reworking of old jungle hardware in Where Were U In '92? ("the album sounds like it's made out of, or inside, a handful of crucial 2 Bad Mice tunes" Simon Reynolds ), or the recent Hyperdub EP, he proves that dis style is not a folder, but a compost to be fertilized upon.

Artist Type:

Barefoot

1) Barefoot is the brainchild of singer Sam Obernik (best known for her work with Tim Deluxe on his It Just Wont Do hit) and legendary producer and remixer Tommy D. Its aim is to bridge the gap between the dance world and more conventional musicianship and song writing through reinterpretations of club classics. Their self titled debut album bubbles with energy, invention and fun and includes White Lines , Born Slippy, It's Like That, Hideaway, Lazy and It Just Won t Do.
