Carlinhos Brown is a Brazilian musician from Salvador, Bahia. He took the surname Brown from the Black Panther, H. Rap Brown. His music is a mixture of Brazilian and rock and soul music. The music features heavy percussion rhythms and Caribbean and Afro-Brazilian-influenced musical styles.
Born in Denmark to Polish-Israeli parents, Znaider studied with the eminent Russian pedagogue Boris Kushnir and drawing on this eclectic background his playing has been heralded in the Strad Magazine as “extraordinarily intelligent, soulful and impassioned, yet without a hint of indulgence” and the Chicago Tribune said “Perhaps not since the young Gidon Kremer burst upon the violin world in 1970 has a violinist caused quite the stir of Nikolaj Znaider”
The Lost Cavalry are a London-based band formed in 2009 by vocalist Mark West, former guitarist of Fanfarlo. Their music utilises a large variety of acoustic and electronic instruments and is influenced by circus and marching band themes. The lyrics are predominantly story based. Anne-Sophie Mutter (born June 29, 1963 in Rheinfelden, Germany) is a German violinist.
Mutter started playing the piano at age five. Shortly after, she began playing the violin, studying with Erna Honigberger and Aida Stucki.
After winning several prizes, she was exempted from school to dedicate herself to her art. When she was 13, conductor Herbert von Karajan invited her to play with the Berlin Philharmonic. In 1977, she made her debut at the Salzburg Festival and with the English Chamber Orchestra under Daniel Barenboim.
