Little Joe

Three artists are known as Little Joe 1. José María De León Hernández, known professionally as Little Joe is an American tejano performer. He is usually joined by his band Y La Familia Borrachera. In 1992, their album 16 de Septiembre earned the grammy Award for Best Mexican-American Performance. 2. A band called Little Joe was formed in November 2003 in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. The James Taylor Quartet

Emerging from the tragic bankruptcy of Stiff Records, James Taylor, founding member of the infamous group The Prisoners, formed The James Taylor Quartet. JTQ's first single, Blow Up was released on the Re Elect The President (Acid Jazz) label in 1985. It was a huge success, immediately attracting the attention of John Peel who championed it; the track appearing in Peel's annual Festive Fifty chart.

Arun Ghosh

Arun Ghosh is a British-Asian clarinettist, composer and music educator. In April 2009, Arun Ghosh was invited to perform at the jazzahead! Festival in Bremen, Germany as part of the UK showcase presented by Jazz Services. He was selected for the 4th edition of the Jerwood/PRS Foundation 'Take Five' initiative for emerging jazz musicians produced by Serious in 2008. Conceived in Calcutta, bred in Bolton, matured in Manchester and now living in London, Arun Ghosh’s musical vocabulary and vision reflects his rich geographical heritage.

Dave Angel

Born in Chelsea, the son of a Jazz musician, Dave Angel’s first musical instrument (appropriately) was a drum at the noisy age of eight.
Not one for conforming, even at the early age, Angel spent little time in school, preferring truancy to chemistry and the music room to the classroom. 1988 and the explosion of acid house in London and the rest of the country seemed to be the major break for Angel, who at the time was pioneering this unbelievable new sound on radio Phaze One.

Gabriel Yared (Arabic: جبرائيل يارد) (born 7 October 1949) is a Lebanese-French composer, best known for his work in French and American cinema. Born in Beirut, Lebanon, his work in France included the scores for Betty Blue and Camille Claudel. He later began working with American film directors, winning an Oscar for his score for The English Patient and a nomination for The Talented Mr. Ripley and Cold Mountain.

Mingus Big Band

"The Mingus Big Band is a jazz band, based in New York City, that specializes in the compositions of the late Charles Mingus. The band is managed by his widow, Sue Mingus. In addition to its weekly Monday night appearance at the Jazz Standard/Blue Smoke Barbecue in New York City, The Mingus Big Band also tours frequently in Europe and other parts of the world." The band are most notable for their very unique big band sound, which consists of many different parts all weaving around eack other to great effect.

Kronos Quartet, Kimmo Pohjonen & Samuli Kosminen

Uniko is a seven-part work composed by Pohjonen and Kosminen which had its World Premiere concert with Kronos Quartet at the prestigious Helsinki Festival in 2004. Subsequent Uniko performances took place in Moscow, Norway and eventually led to its North American Premiere with three sold-out concerts at the BAM NEXT WAVE Festival in New York in 2007. Uniko was recorded at Avatar Studios in NYC immediately following the BAM concerts with production by Iceland’s Valgeir Sigurdsson, known for his work with Björk and others.
