Melissa Auf der Maur (born March 17, 1972) is a canadian rock musician who currently resides in her hometown of Montréal, Canada. Auf der Maur became friends with Billy Corgan after apologizing for a friend who threw a beer bottle at him during one of The Smashing Pumpkins' Canadian concert dates. Her band, Tinker, opened for The Smashing Pumpkins in Montreal in 1993. In 1994, when Hole was in need of a new bassist following the death of Kristen Pfaff, Corgan recommended Auf der Maur to Courtney Love.

Ryan Adams (born David Ryan Adams on November 5, 1974) is an alt-country and rock and roll singer-songwriter from Jacksonville, North Carolina. He is married to pop singer and actress Mandy Moore. Adams dropped out of high school at age 16 to work in a shoe shop and make music. He formed a band named Whiskeytown in 1994; they disbanded in 1999 having released two full albums, Faithless Street and Strangers Almanac. Adams went on to put out his first solo record, Heartbreaker, in 2000. After a long delay, in 2001 Whiskeytown's third album Pneumonia was finally issued.

There is more than one artist with this name: 1) Arizona was an indie rock band formed in Brooklyn, NY. The band is currently on indefinite hiatus. The members are now working on other projects, including Wages (www.wageswages.com) and New Beard (www.newbeardcity.com). Arizona first formed as a three piece in 2005 when founding members Ben Wigler, Nick Campbell, and Alex Hornbake recorded debut EP "The Sun and The Room" which had artwork contributed by Brooklyn artist Deems (www.inaspoon.com).

The Automatic are a four-piece indie rock band who formed in Cowbridge, Glamorgan, Wales in 2002, but are now based in Cardiff. They describe their music as "electro-disco-metal-rock". They are influenced heavily by acts such as Jarcrew, Muse, Blur and The Blood Brothers, among others. In the USA and Canada, the band is promoted as The Automatic Automatic (although a large majority of fans in those countries commonly refer to the band by their actual name).
