Pankaj Udhas is a pre-eminent Ghazal singer from India. He is credited with bringing this unique singing style where Urdu verses of poets are set to music to the mass audience across the country along with other musicians like Jagjit Singh and Talat Aziz. 'Jagjit Singh' (lang-paਜਗਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ, lang-hiजगजीत सिंह, lang-urجگجیت سنگھ) (born February 8, 1941) is a prominent Indian ghazal singer. He gained acclaim together with his wife, another renowned Indian ghazal singer Chitra Singh, as the first ever successful duo (husband-wife) act in the history of recorded Indian music. Remember Shakti

Remember Shakti is the second incarnation of guitarist John McLaughlin's group which plays a fusion of indian music and jazz. The original Shakti was most active between 1975 and 1978; Remember Shakti was formed in 2000 and has played on and off since then. The core of Remember Shakti is guitarist John McLaughlin and master tabla player and percussionist Zakir Hussain, both members of the original Shakti. On the first recording from 2000, T.H. Vinayakram (also a member of the original Shakti) plays ghatam and Indian drum, and Hariprasad Chaurasia plays bansuri flute.

Asha Bhosle
