Aurelie

There are two artists represented here:
1) In autumn of 2001 two males, living almost precisely at the centre of England, decided upon the name Aurelie to denote their collaboration. The word itself is a common girl's name on the continent and was chosen purely for its phonetic beauty rather than any inherent meaning. Their first album, Desde Que Naci, was released on Swim Records in 2003. The album combined ambient electronics and minimalist instrumental pieces, receiving positive reviews from magazines including Wire and Uncut.

Orlando Gibbons

Orlando Gibbons (1583-1625), English composer and organist of the late Tudor and early Jacobean periods, a leading composer in the England of his day. Born in Oxford, between 1596 and 1598 he sang in the choir of King's College, Cambridge, then he entered the university in 1598 and achieved the degree of Bachelor of Music in 1606. James I appointed him a Gentleman of the Chapel Royal, where he served as an organist from at least 1615 until his death. In 1625 he became senior organist at the Chapel Royal, with Thomas Tomkins as junior organist.

Mediæval Bæbes

The Mediæval Bæbes are an English ensemble of female musicians founded by Miranda Sex Garden member Katharine Blake in London in 1996, featuring some of her MSG cohorts as well as other friends who share her love of medieval music. The lineup often rotates from album to album, and ranges from 6to 12 members. The Bæbes's first album, Salva Nos (1997), shot straight to No 2 in the classical charts, a silver disc. Subsequent albums include Worldes Blysse (which went straight to No 1), Undrentide, (co-produced by John Cale), The Rose, and the Christmas-themed album Mistletoe & Wine.

Wardruna

Wardruna is a Norwegian musical constellation set out to explore and evoke the depths of heathen Germanic wisdom and spirituality. Musically Wardruna has its main focus on the cultic musical language found in the near-forgotten arts of galdr, seidr and the daily acts of the cultic life, mixed with impulses from Scandinavian and Nordic folk music. They formed in 2003 in Bergen, Norway. The album entitled ‘Gap var Ginnunga’ is the first in a planned trilogy that will interpret the runes of the Elder Futhark.

Djivan Gasparyan, born 1928 in Solag, plays the duduk, an Armenian double reed woodwind instrument related to the oboe. Djivan Gasparyan is widely known as the "Master" of Duduk. William Lawes

William Lawes (1602–1645) was an English composer and musician. Lawes was born at Salisbury in Wiltshire and was baptised on 1st May 1602. He was the son of Thomas Lawes, a vicar choral at Salisbury Cathedral, and brother to Henry Lawes, a very successful composer in his own right. His patron, Edward Seymour, Earl of Hertford, apprenticed him to the composer John Coprario, which probably brought Lawes into contact with Charles, Prince of Wales at an early age. Both William and his elder brother Henry received court appointments after Charles succeeded to the British throne as Charles I.

They can often be seen performing at local Medieval Markets and other re-enacting events.
In contrast with other 'medieval' bands, which often restrict themselves to a few instruments like bagpipes and drums or similar combinations, Schelmish offers a big pallette of instrumentation and mix them in a proper way.
