The Heartless Bastards' story starts in Dayton, Ohio, where Wennerstrom found the name on a multiple choice video trivia game at a bar. As a songwriting teenager during a time when Guided by Voices and Brainiac were packing local bars and three of The Breeders were still in town, Wennerstrom used to sneak into clubs to check out the scene. "I would just see those people—my music heroes—hanging out at the bar like everyone else," she remembers. "I could see myself in them. It gave me inspiration to do my own thing."

Jim White is a southern gothic alt-country singer-songwriter. He has released four albums as a solo artist. While his music is based in americana, he borrows elements from rock, rhythm and blues, and even electronica, often piecing sounds together in the lo-fi cut-and-paste fashion of artists like Tom Waits. His albums have featured a wide variety of collaborators, such as Victoria Williams, Morcheeba, Aimee Mann, Barenaked Ladies, and Joe Henry.

Originally the brainchild of crooning minstrel Gregory Griffin; a Californian recently transplanted to a giant warehouse in the Manor House area of London, Lofty Heights have since evolved into a band of mid-20’s misfits peddling Colin Meloy influenced indie- pop that spin yarns from lonesome ancient mariners to the perils of sharing the washing-up!
Debut single Eye Contact is a beautifully orchestrated chamber pop ditty that sees Greg interlace Beach Boy inspired harmonies over heartfelt lyrics and rich instrumentation including cello, slide guitar and piano accompaniment.

Americana singer/songwriter Chris Mills was born an Army brat, spending his formative years living in both the U.S. and Germany; as a teen he settled in southern Illinois, where he was exposed to the groundbreaking insurgent country sound of local heroes Uncle Tupelo. While in high school, Mills also fronted a speed metal band, but in the years to follow his music took an increasingly rootsy turn; upon signing to Chicago indie Sugar Free, he issued his debut EP Nobody's Favorite in 1997, followed in early 1998 by the full-length Every Night Fight for Your Life.
