U Roy

U Roy AKA Ewart Beckford, Hugh Roy. Born in 1942, Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies. began as a sound system DJ in 1961, spinning records for the Doctor Dickies set, later known as Dickies Dynamic, in such well-known Jamaican venues as Victoria Pier, Foresters Hall and Emmett Park. His inspiration was the DJ Winston Count Machuki, who worked for Coxsone Dodd and subsequently on Prince Buster's Voice Of The People sound system.

1) Born in 1976 in the midlands of southern Italy, Paolo Picone aka Peak, started his musical activites in 1991, as a drummer at the age of 15. In 1995 he began to compose electronic music with samplers, drum machines and midi sequencers. He founded the Mou project in 2001, hailed by the press as one of the most important dub'n' bass live bands in Italy. One year later Mou started performing live at the main italian alternative clubs and festivals like ArezzoWave, Leoncavallo, Officina99, Agricantus, with a tour numbering over 50 gigs in all italian regions.

Carmen Linares

Carmen Pacheco Rodríguez, born in Linares (Jaén) in 1951, is without doubt a fundamental pillar of all current flamenco singing, she masters a vast repertoire of flamenco styles due to her long experience. Her enormous versatility has allowed her to take part in zarzuelas (a Spanish form of musical drama), plays and several projects involving classical musicians and musicans from the world of jazz. Out of her works, the recording of an anthology of female flamenco singing is the one which stands out.

Ali Ibrahim “Farka” Touré (October 31, 1939 – March 7, 2006) was a Malian singer and guitarist, and one of the African continent’s most internationally renowned musicians. His music is widely regarded as representing a point of intersection of traditional Malian music and its North American cousin, the blues. The belief that the latter is historically derived from the former is reflected in Martin Scorsese’s often quoted characterization of Touré’s tradition as constituting "the DNA of the blues". Touré was ranked number 76 on Rolling Stone’s list of “The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time”.
