Edd Garratt

Edd is a Singer/Songwriter currently gigging around London with his band. Massimo Troiani on bass and Conor Goold on drums. With a soulful voice that can make a room full of people fall silent, and songs to back it up, he has justifiable been compared to the likes of Ryan Adams and John Martyn. He has just recorded a 5 track demo with his band, which can be found at: http://www.myspace.com/eddgarratt I saw him live last month and will certainly be going to see him again. Definitely a talent to watch out for in 2010.

Butterflies On Strings

Butterflies On Strings like to refer to themselves as 'post pop', but it's hard to tell if they are joking or not. They play an uplifting blend of indie-pop and electronica, with a bit of post rock thrown in for a bit of shameless self-indulgence. Originally formed as a two piece in the summer of 2006, they have now grown to four members, and are all the better for it. They have one EP under their belt ('Close Your Eyes And Think Of Ben' is available via iTunes) produced by Peter Miles.

Artist Type:

The Clench

Recently exploding onto the Sheffield scene, The Clench deliver the finest oak-aged, whiskey-fuelled, blues-swamp country-rock since the last band to make such bold claims. This six-piece outfit take pride in making music to ride horses by (or, at the very least, steal), and their sound conjures up desolate images of wronged men, barren landscapes and cowboy-themed vengeance. Or, a bit like Calexico and Chris Isaak, who are also ace.

Findlay Napier

Findlay Napier & the
Findlay Napier and the Bar Room Mountaineers. The unique Scottish act, Findlay Napier and The Bar Room Mountaineers hail from a “folk” background which makes it easy to pigeonhole most bands, but certainly not this one. The band draws on a wide range of musical influences including bluegrass, country, funk and folk, with the occasional bit of punk thrown in for good measure. If you were to think, Loudon Wainwright’s unparalleled story telling, meets the tightness of Nickel Creek, with a distinctive Scottish twist, you would be getting warm!

Artist Type:

Stevie Jones

Stevie’s roots were laid down busking and playing floor spots at folk clubs in his native Northants. In the 90s he lived for two years in Germany, extensively gigging and spent time in Dublin, playing on the city’s fibrant open mic scene. These experiences provided him with a wealth of influences and inspiration and for the last four years he has been joined on stage by the awesome guitar skills of Mark Gill.
