The Black Mirrors

This name refers to at least two bands: (1) The original Black Mirrors were a Nigerian rock band in the 1970s. Their recordings are featured in anthologies of Nigerian music from that era, and their song "The World Ends" inspired the title of the acclaimed Soundway anthology, "The World Ends: Afro Rock & Psychedelia in 1970s Nigeria." (2) The Black Mirrors are a garage punk quartet from Stoke on Trent, taking influence from Nick Cave, Iggy Pop, MC5, Eighties Matchbox and other sinister purveyors of dark melancholia.

The Fuzztones

The Fuzztones are a garage rock revival band formed in the 1980s, playing straight into the 1990s and now. Founded by singer-guitarist Rudi Protrudi in New York City in 1981, the band has gone through several member changes but is currently active in Europe. Dismissed by some critics and listeners as a "bar band" or unoriginal - and even plagaristic - they maintained a strong fan base in New York, in Europe and in Los Angeles, where Rudi would move in 1987 after the breakup of the original band, to organize a new Fuzztones.

Japandroids

Japandroids (JPNDRDS) are a two piece band from Vancouver, BC. This 'band' started in 2006 as a creative outlet for the post-teenage angst of Brian King and David Prowse. Originally intended to be a trio, the boys decided to forgo the logistical nightmare of having a 'lead singer' and do it themselves. As a consequence, Japandroids were/are/will be 1 guitar, 1 set of drums, and 2 vocalizers. They call it garage rock. They don't care what you call it, as long as it's not minimal. Japandroids are maximal - a two piece band trying to sound like a five piece band.

Soundays

It all started when four friends got together and formed a band to escape the boring stereotypes of the local music scene. The clear, sunny Californian seacoast 60’s garage rock influence, mixed up with a fresh English pop flavour makes Soundays a music revelation - and one of the most exciting new bands in Latin America. In 2008 Soundays entered the studio to record the songs for their first demo "Riot", produced by Emilio Acosta. In April that year, the first single “Gipsy Love” came out and later that October, the band released the full 5-song demo.

The Henchmen

In response to the rise of reality television & the emerging ban on all culturally seditious behaviour, a psychobilly pop band called The Henchmen began hiring out halls & warehouses, putting on seditious showcases of reckless abandon disguised as 'parties'.
At first nobody came. even their closest friends and family disassociated from this reckless band of loners & outcasts. So in 2004 they moved from the relative safety of Canberra and spread their 'party' across the national landscape, performing everywhere from Brisbane to Adelaide.
