Alex Lowe has gone back to his roots. On his new album, the Scottish songwriter has returned to the country rock sound that he grew up with. Written in five days, "Step Forward All False Prophets" is the work of a man who has rediscovered the power of classic songwriting, featuring whiskey-soaked tales about preachers, angels, whores and devils. The ghost of Johnny Cash looms large over these acoustic recordings, coupled with the storytelling tradition of Bob Dylan and the tear in yer beer melancholy of Gram Parsons, Jayhawks and early Wilco.
Red Box is a British pop group formed in the 1980s. The group was originally a five-piece band, and released its debut single "Chenko" on Cherry Red Records in 1983. Following this, the band slimmed down to a duo, Simon Toulson-Clarke and Julian Close, and took on a more synthpop direction. Their second single "Saskatchewan" (a cover of the Buffy Sainte-Marie song) brought them to the attention of WEA, who signed the duo.
Territory is the follow up to the Charlottetown band
In the 60s, Colin Blunstone was the lead singer of the Zombies, a British band that developed a distinctive, jazzy sound, in which his soft, laid-back, almost hesitant voice was beautifully offset against the equally soft, but flexible and pointy instruments of organ, drum, and bass. The Zombies disbanded. In the early 70s, Blunstone re-emerged as a solo act, and scored several major hits. The music featured rhythm guitar now and ranged from string arranged melodies, to rock, to American folk.

Hailing from Newcastle, these glam-punk upstarts craft raucous tunes that demand your attention. 2009 is Viva City’s busiest year so far, with the release of third single ‘Behold’ due on November 23rd. An urgent mix of dirty guitars and drum+base, fused with Viva City’s trademark electronic wizardry, this storming track is a surefire club hit.
Urusen began as Peter Beatty and Ben Please, cousins who've both been playing guitar and writing songs from an early age. In the summer of 1999 they began working together, performing regular gigs in London and Cambridge. But it was in the summer of 2002 that they got their first major break: to return to their home town of Bath to make a record. They immediately jacked in their jobs and, joined by bassist Jon Wordsworth, independently produced their first album 'Life Under Seat'.
Kinisfear is a four piece band from Bracknell, Berkshire, England. The band started many years ago as just James and Joe jamming. It didn't take too much thinking to realise that a band with a guitar and a drummer is a bit small (even for the White Stripes). So along came Keith. So that's a band of 3, a bit better. However...they where still missing a bass player, and did so for a long time. Thats when, Liam stepped in.
