The Sorrows are considered perhaps to be the archetypal "Freakbeat" band. Formed in 1963 in Coventry, England, they released their first album "Take a Heart" in 1965 on the Piccadilly Records label which was a subsidiary of Pye Records. The Sorrows were at the time the hardest, most aggressive and contemporary R&B band of that time, although later this brand of music was eventually termed "Freakbeat".
Fast Cars were formed in 1977 by Stuart Murray and his brother Steven at school in Swinton, Manchester. They played Pop-Punk, their original line up was ;Steven Murray vocals (and main songwriter) Hyden Jones on lead, Stuart on Bass and Tony Dyson on drums. After about 6 months Hyden left and Craig Hilton joined them and that is who played on the single "The Kids Just Wanna Dance". They had 2 songs put on "A Manchester Collection" LP Orbit Records.
The Missing Links were an Australian R&B group from the mid-1960s who were renowned for their (for the time) outrageously long hair and especially for their adventurous musical style, which influenced many later Australian groups, including The Saints. The second incarnation of The Missing Links is also notable for launching the careers of New Zealand-born singer-actor Andy Anderson and guitarist and songwriter Doug Ford, who later became the lead guitarist in The Masters Apprentices.

The 1999 recording from Light Of The World, 'Inner Voices' proved the band were ready for the dawn of the 21st century. Founder members of LOTW McKrieth, Wellington and Baptiste returned to compose some material, add their arrangements and produce a real follow up many years later to the 'Round Trip' album of many years earlier, and signed a recording agreement with Sanctuary Music. This being the first time that so many key members turned up for the recording of the songs.
There are at least 3 bands sharing the name The Eyes. 1) In 1965 and 1966, the Eyes released a clutch of singles that stand up to the Who's work from the same era in their blend of extremely innovative guitar feedback/distortion and anthemic mod songwriting. "When the Night Falls," "The Immediate Pleasure," "I'm Rowed Out," "You're Too Much," and the dry "My Generation" satire "My Degeneration" are revered highly by British Invasion collectors. The bursts of electronic mayhem were quite advanced for the time, though like the Who they had hooks and harmonies to counterpoint the madness.
Originally a 4-piece, King Cannons formed at the end of 2007 in Auckland City, New Zealand. Percussion and keys came soon after and at the beginning of 2009 after a myriad of obstacles along the way, including a short re-location to London, King Cannons relocated to Melbourne, Australia. The Downliners Sect was a British rhythm and blues band of the beat boom era, formed in 1963 when the existing Downliners band split up. Stylistically, they were similar to The Yardbirds, The Pretty Things and the Rolling Stones, playing basic R & B on their first album "The Sect". They subsequently modified their musical style, and after an EP of 'sick' songs (eg 'I want my Baby Back') they experimented with both country ("The Country Sect") and rock ("Rock Sect's In").
