Brian Blade

Brian Blade (born 1970 in Shreveport, Louisiana) is an American jazz drummer and composer. Brian made his first appearances as a sideman with pianist Brad Mehldau, Joshua Redman, Kenny Garrett, and continued to work as a sideman with other musicians commonly known as "young lions." As a leader, he has released three albums - Fellowship, Perceptual, and most recently, Season of Changes, his Verve Music Group debut. Season of Changes has received rave reviews and continues to grow in popularity.

Remember Shakti

Remember Shakti is the second incarnation of guitarist John McLaughlin's group which plays a fusion of indian music and jazz. The original Shakti was most active between 1975 and 1978; Remember Shakti was formed in 2000 and has played on and off since then. The core of Remember Shakti is guitarist John McLaughlin and master tabla player and percussionist Zakir Hussain, both members of the original Shakti. On the first recording from 2000, T.H. Vinayakram (also a member of the original Shakti) plays ghatam and Indian drum, and Hariprasad Chaurasia plays bansuri flute.

Antonio Sanchez

Drummer Antonio Sanchez shows how with extraordinary artistry combined with exceptional technique on Migration (2007). Saxophonists Chris Potter and David Sanchez can unquestionably blow bop and, along with bassist Scott Colley, they supply the necessary musicianship and creativity that nails this session. Sanchez has been Metheny's drummer of choice for several years and Colley is likewise not new to this rarefied air having extensive ties to guitarist Jim Hall.
