Nubreed, a 'Nu Skool Breaks' band based in Melbourne, Australia is made up of Jase, Myke and Db. Know for their dynamic live shows and a style that pushes the boundries. Nubreed draw on a wide range of influences like old skool jazz, neo-tech, funk, breaks, hip hop and drum and bass. They are seen as a band rather than a group, as they MC and sing on their tracks and due to their wide influences, they have a sound more like a band.
Syntheme is the moniker for the music of Global Goon performed by Louis Helena Wood. They have 3 EP’s on Planet µ Records (Vol.1, Vol.2 & Vol.3), and Lov3 from WeMe. There are other tracks available on her myspace page. Their new album "Lasers’n’shit" is out now on Planet Mu. Their works make heavy usage of sophisticated acid and bass lines upon solid drum sequences, ambient soft synth layers, and occasionally various heavily-edited audio samples. Pig & Dan are made up on producers Dan Duncan & Igor Tchkotoua (Pig). They met a number of years ago and from there have developed an extremly solid and fruitful partnership. After a few months of producing together they signed a deal with Dutch label, Sadie Records, they began to enter into the market and gain success. This gave the duo a boost and they started to produce two/three tunes a week. They then decided that it would be a good idea to build their own record company 'Submission' and work together with Sadie to create a bigger market.
"Human Haircut" is just one of many chosen monikers for music producer Matthew Critchley. Matt lives in the South West of England, where he has his own studio and is currently building up a collective of work. He is also working on the "Feathered Edge" project with friend and composer James Randall.
In 1982 the Bollywood session musician CHARANJIT SINGH imported with much pain some of the latest synthesizer equipment into India. A good investment as Bollywood composers liked to feature the latest sound in their songs, and with these keyboards Singh spiced up numerous Bollywood recordings. But apart from that, in the late nightly hours after the studio recording were over, Singh set out on his own, wholly original project.
