Planes

There are 3 artists recording as 'Planes' : 1. "Melodramatic Popular Song" from Bogota, Colombia, formed in 2009 by two Pablos. Their first album, "Electrocumbias a 5mil" is expected to launch early 2011. 2. The new Richard Bultitude (Point B, Frond). In true Lab Beat tradition, the style is a sophisticated one. Meaning jazzy, squashy wonk-hop. 3. Totally obscure and wonderful Kluster-like experimental/ambient electronics from 1974. Planes were a duo consisting of :Gregor Curten (organ, synthesizer, guitar), Anselm Rogmans (vocals, tapes, organ, synthesizer).

Stone Parade

The voicemail is simple "Just past the laundromat then turn left, you'll hear us when you get there". Alex is a man of few words. Inside a poorly lit factory, behind walls of guitars, old paintings and broken amps I find drummer Billy Handley hanging out his washing and cleaning up dirty dishes which have been left on the sink against his wishes. He's not a happy camper as his sign above the sink clearly states "Wash up your own stuff morons!" You see...

Our smallest adventures

Started as an excuse for two friends to jam, Our Smallest Adventures soon became a fully fledged musical concern as a side project for Beep! Beep! Ping! members Martyn and Sandy for material which they didn't feel was appropriate the aforementioned band. Then Sandy left and Robin and William joined. A summer of many gigs followed, then Robin and William left to move to Glasgow and Our Smallest Adventures lay dormant for a while.

The Bee's Knees

Soulful, gritty and twangy, with sweet harmonies and a hard to contain lead guitarist, the Bee’s Knees are in a world of their own. Taking leads from classical country, '60s pop and psychodelia and the country rock movements of the '70s and '90s, the Bee’s Knees have fashioned a unique Americana infused pop sound that is quite their own.

Spook and the Ghouls

Spook and the Ghouls are a psycho-billy, rocka-billy group formed in the early to mid-eighties. Their sound was original, unique, and still to this day as current as ever for those who follow psycho-billy, rocka-billy, or even punk music, which their sound marginally touched upon. Having re-formed in late 2005 by popular demand, the group consists mostly of the original line-up. Spook, (Simon Badmington), is still the ever present lead singer whose performance on stage is always as thrilling, and as shocking as it was in the old days.
