Taking the Fall

Taking the Fall formed in early 2005 and have since performed extensively in the Dunedin music scene. They play a blend of alternative rock infused with metal influences. Taking the Fall have built up a solid fan base by playing with many talented local bands, as well as supporting numerous touring acts such as Blindspott, Cold By Winter, Streetwise Scarlet, Not Quite Right, and American punk heroes Strung Out.

Fat Freddy's Drop

Fat Freddy's Drop is a 7 piece live Dub/Reggae band from Wellington, New Zealand. Founded in 2001, the current lineup consists of DJ Fitchie, Joe Dukie (Dallas Tamaira), Toby Laing, Ho Pepa, Fulla Flash, Scott Towers, Tehimana Kerr, and Iain Gordon. The name "Fat Freddy's Drop" is a reference to a piece of blotter art that was circulating in the NZ dance scene in the late 90's. The group's first major release was a live album, Live at the Matterhorn, a lengthy jam session recorded in a popular Wellington night club.

Midnight Youth

Midnight Youth are a New Zealand rock band formed in 2006. Their debut album, The Brave Don't Run, was released in 2009 in New Zealand and Australia. The band have subsequently toured and played festivals across Australasia, the United States and Asia. Their second studio album, World Comes Calling, was released in New Zealand in November 2011 and independently worldwide (exc. Australia).

Gin Wigmore

Virginia "Gin" Wigmore is a New Zealand singer/songwriter who was born in Auckland, New Zealand, where she spent most of her childhood. However, while in Argentina at age 16 her father died of cancer. Upon her return to New Zealand, she articulated in song, the pain of losing her father. One of those early penned songs, “Hallelujah”, won the US-based International Songwriting Competition in 2004[2], when she beat 11,000 songwriting aspirants from 77 countries to become the youngest and only unsigned Grand Prize winner in the history of the ISC.

Bic Runga

Briolette Kah Bic Runga (born 13 January 1976) is a New Zealand singer-songwriter whose first solo album, Drive, debuted at number one in the New Zealand charts, and has since become one of the highest-selling New Zealand artists of our time. Runga has also found success internationally in Australia and the UK. Regarding the pronunciation of "Bic": "You say it Bec, rather than Bic", she explains. "It's Chinese, it's a strange vowel sound which doesn't seem to translate in English. It means the colour of jade, which I suppose is just green."

The Aviators

There are five Aviators bands:
(The first being the band pictured and who the similar artists apply to) 1) The Aviators, London based. - Have now renamed themselves Tiny Spark!
The band; George, Dan, Ali, Kev & Rob became a five piece outfit with the addition of Rob on Keys in 2006. The band formed after realizing a shared interest and ambition in music in the cultural hub that is Portsmouth, relocating to London to make it 'big' in 2007.

Salmonella Dub

Salmonella Dub began in the summer of 1992/1993 when Andrew, Dave and Mark applied reggae rhythms and bowel stirring basstones to a handful of bad taste covers. Salmonella Dub's first show was a mixture of covers from Fred Dagg to Nancy and Lee plus some original material in the Westport Racetrack tearooms with EST on January 13th 1993. Over the course of 1993 the band with the aid of Ice Mac and his soundsystem worked the Dux de Lux and Steel Magnolia bars with percussionists Marcus Puentener and Craig Allen.
