Blue Murder

1) Blue Murder was the hard rock brainchild of ex-Whitesnake and Thin Lizzy guitarist John Sykes. The original 1988 lineup of the band, also included ex-The Firm bass player Tony Franklin and drummer Cozy Powell (although he was almost immediately replaced by Carmine Appice). Ray Gillen was also briefly in the 1988 line-up before Sykes decided to take the vocal duties himself in addition to guitar.

Morris On

Morris On was a project of British folk-rock musician Ashley Hutchings, celebrating the traditions surrounding morris dancing. Hutchings was joined by a who's who of English folk-rock for a one-off self-titled album in 1972, including John Kirkpatick (vocals, button accordion, concertina, harmonium, tambourine), Richard Thompson (vocals, electric guitar), Barry Dransfield (vocals, violin, acoustic guitar), Dave Mattacks (drums, tambourine), while Hutchings handled vocals and bass guitar.

Quadriga Consort

Since the formation of the Quadriga Consort in 2000, the Austrian ensemble under the direction of the harpsichordist Nikolaus Newerkla has made a name for itself beyond the borders of Austria, playing early music, which defies being pigeonholed as either "classical" or "pop". With its first programme, Ground – released on CD (2003) with Label Harp, Berlin – the Quadriga Consort already delighted its audiences with uncompromising interpretations and unsuspected freshness, beyond any categorization.

Dave Burland

Dave Burland has retired twice in his life. In 1968 he left the Police Force to pursue a career in folk music, as a singer and guitar player. This particular period lasted until 1998 approx., when he took a proper job in which he had to wear proper trousers and, on occasions, a suit and tie. During the aforementioned period of thirty years, he visited quite a few countries, made quite a few solo records, quite a few of which are no longer available...

Waterson:Carthy

Waterson:Carthy are a British folk group comprising Norma Waterson on vocals, her husband Martin Carthy on guitar, their daughter Eliza Carthy on fiddle and Tim Van Eyken on melodeon. Tim joined the group after 1996 when Saul Rose left the group. In 2007 Saul Rose has returned in place of Tim. Martin and Norma tour as a duo once a year, and are members of The Watersons. Individually, the band members are tremendously revered English folk musicians in their own right, but together they form one of the most sought bands available.

The Incredible String Band

The Incredible String Band are a Scottish acoustic band who (in the words of one of their earlier songs) "way back in the 1960s" built a popular following among the British counter culture, and are considered psych folk music pioneers. The Incredible String Band was formed in Edinburgh, UK in 1965 by folk musicians Robin Williamson, Mike Heron and Clive Palmer. They recorded their eponymous debut album in 1966, a lighthearted affair which revealed only the merest hint of the psychedelic adventures to come.

The Pindrop Band

Drawing on a range of folk, jazz and world musics, the Pindrop Band are a group of musicans who love acoustic music and like to perform without the aid of huge amplification systems. The emphasis in on delicate arrangements and harmonies and purity of sound. Much of their material is self-penned (with the odd quirky cover), and features a vast array of instruments including guitars, ukulele, banjo, mandolin, harp, fiddle, accordion, charango, whistles, harmonium, autoharp, double bass and percussion.

Bridget St. John

Bridget St. John is a singer with a distinctively deep and somewhat melancholy voice. She learnt piano and viola as a child in London, and guitar while a student at Sheffield University, from which she graduated in 1968. Her "To B. without a hitch" / "Autumn Lullaby" (1969) was one of the first two singles released by Dandelion Records, John Peel's label. Ask Me No Questions - including the earlier single, and sparingly produced by Peel - was the label's first LP.

John Renbourn

John Renbourn (born August 8, 1944, Marylebone, London, England) is a British guitarist and songwriter. He is possibly best-known for his collaboration with guitarist Bert Jansch as well as his work with the folk group Pentangle, although he maintained a solo career both before, during and after that band's existence (1967-1973). While most commonly labelled a folk musician, Renbourn's musical tastes and interests take in early music, classical music, blues and world music. His most influential album, Sir John Alot (1968), featured his take on songs from the Medieval era.

Martin Carthy & Dave Swarbrick

Martin Carthy MBE is an English folk singer and guitarist who has remained one of the most influential figures in British traditional music, inspiring contemporaries such as Bob Dylan and Paul Simon and later artists such as Richard Thompson since he emerged as a young musician in the early days of the folk revival.
Dave Swarbrick is an English folk musician, best known for his fiddle playing. Swarbrick joined the Ian Campbell Folk Group in 1960.
