Shelagh Mcdonald

Originally from Scotland, Shelagh McDonald moved to London in the late 1960s, where she was part of the folk-music scene. In 1970 she released her first album, Shelagh McDonald Album, which sold rather poorly. 1971's Stargazer sold better, and was critically acclaimed. However, some time after its release, McDonald disappeared and wasn't heard from again until quite recently. Shelagh McDonald's music is close to that of some of her contemporaries, for example, Sandy Denny, Nick Drake, and Duncan Browne.

Dambuskers

They are a band with 'attitude', fronted by Steve Ruffe The Wild Man of Folk who - as well as writing great songs that get audiences singing - is on lead vocals and plays guitar, harmonica and percussion. Chloe Watson is a an amazing folk fiddler; her classical training gives her a freedom and edge that keep her afloat above the wild things that go on around her. She is also developing into a talented singer with an amazing delivery that always adds something new to the songs she sings.

Melodica, Melody and Me

This is from their Myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/mmmelodic), "Hello! We are Melodica, Melody & Me. Bringing you wholesome melodies and skanky drops.".
When I listen to them, I get an image of Bob Marley and Paul Simon leaning on a gate at woodstock while chewing a piece of straw and talking about tractors or something like that.... I have a weird imagination though..... but to sum it up I would kind of say hippie and reggae with an indie flow to it - very relaxed and chilled but with a rythm 'n beat and lyrics that draw you in.
