The Shee

The Shee are an exceptional all-female band showcasing powerful vocals and instrumental prowess. Described as ‘flirtatiously funky’ by The Scotsman, as well as ‘boasting some of folk music’s cutting-edge instrumentalists and singers’ by the Daily Record, their music features original compositions alongside a wealth of traditional material. Their adventurous brew of Scottish folk, Gaelic song, and bluegrass has earned them fast growing recognition.

Katharine Blake

Katharine Blake (born in 1970 in London, UK) is the founder, main composer and musical director of the unique choral group the Mediaeval Baebes. The band was formed in 1996 and has released five studio albums, two compilation albums, a live album and a DVD. The Baebes have toured extensively, mainly throughout the UK, Canada and America. The other project Katharine is known for is Miranda Sex Garden of which Katharine was a founder member, lead singer, songwriter and lyricist. Formed in 1990 the band started out as a busking Madrigal trio.

Heidi could refer to: 1) a Danish singer and songwriter, know form the Danish edition of X-Factor. 2) an all girl rock band from Boston, Massachusetts that started in 1999 and dressed like a punk rock field hockey team. They released 2 demos before moving out to California to "make it big" and promptly broke up in 2002 having recorded a full-length album, but never released it. 3) heidi. (read haiji) is a visual-kei indie band that started activities with a few secret lives around Tokyo in early February 2006.

Dionne Bromfield (born 1996 in Kent) is an English singer. In September 2009 Bromfield was the first artist to be signed to Amy Winehouse's record label Lioness Records. Her debut album Introducing Dionne Bromfield was released on 12 October 2009 and first single "Mama Said" will be released on 2 November 2009. Dionne’s album features covers of 12 classic songs that reflect her love of vintage soul music and ‘60s girl groups.

The Slits

The Slits were formed in 1976 in London, England. The original female members were Ari Up (Ariana Foster), with Viv Albertine and Tessa Politt replacing founding members Palmolive (Paloma Romera) (who left to join The Raincoats), Kate Korus and Suzi Gutsy. Budgie (aka Pete Clarke, formerly of The Spitfire Boys and later to join Siouxsie and the Banshees) was their male drummer. They released their first reggae-tinged punk debut, Cut, in 1979.

Butterclock

ButterClock is a young Parisian who makes some great downtempo along the lines of The XX or Bat For Lashes. It’s atmospheric and slow and very French, though according to Facebook they’re a «gathering of creatures from Nevada». ButterClock takes you off on a blurred red wine coma of journey that leaves you curled up asleep in the back of a deserted theatre, the strains of the sub base from next doors club filtering through the dusty walls.
