Purbayan Chatterjee

Purbayan Chatterjee gave his first sensational performance at the age of 5 at the India Festival in Basel in 1982. He is appreciated both in the field of percussion and in the music world at large. He has won many awards and much recognition for his contributions. Zakir Hussain has worked with many leading Western and Indian artists, and has produced many works of East-West fusion, perhaps most notably with George Harrison.

His music combines the atmospheric layers and reverberations prominent in dark ambient music, and combines it with the experimentation and rhythmic qualities of second-wave industrial music.
