Shoreline

Shoreline from Brighton, United Kingdom form part of a larger collective of Brighton based indie folk acts, operating under the banner of The Willkommen Collective. They began in 2005 when Tom Cowan met Beatrice Sanjust Di Teulada at a bus station. They recorded some sweet tiny songs together at the top of Tom's parent's house and released a CD featuring contributions from their talented friends, Willam Calderbank, Mike Siddell, James De Malplaquet, Jacob Richardson, Nick Hemming.

Very few can boast this set of trump cards, but it just happens to be the hand dealt to Australian singer, songwriter and guitarist Kara Grainger, who exhibits an effortlessly seductive and modern take on roots, blues and soul music.

Karima Francis

Karima Francis is a young singer/songwriter from Blackpool, England. Nineteen years old, as of 2006, she is now based in Manchester, intending to study music. Originally a drummer also providing backing vocals for alternative/indie band Litterbug in her home town, she had only recently became a singer, and also plays the guitar. This change of direction has revealed a singer of enormous range and power who has been likened by some to a young Joan Armatrading, but who has a unique style of her own. This is coupled with a small number of lyrical and powerful self-written songs.

Boo Hewerdine

Boo Hewerdine (b. 1961, London) is an English singer-songwriter. His work includes lead singer and creative force behind The Bible, formed in the 1980s, and reformed in 1994, as well as solo recordings and work for film. He lives in Ely. Hewerdine (born Mark Hewerdine) moved to Cambridge as a child, but returned to London in his late teens, and worked in a record shop. Suffering from agoraphobia, it was not a happy time of his life, and he was fired from his job after being wrongly accused of theft.

André Rieu

Early life and studies
André Rieu was born into a musical family on October 1, 1949 in Maastricht in the Netherlands. He began studying violin at the age of five. His father was a conductor. From a very young age he developed a fascination with orchestra. He studied violin at the Conservatoire Royal in Liège and in the Conservatorium Maastricht, (1968–1973). His teachers included Jo Juda and Herman Krebbers. From 1974 to 1977, he attended the Music Academy in Brussels, studying with André Gertler, winning the Premier Prix at the academy.

Phaedra

Phaedra may refer to a number of artists. 1) Phaedra is the musical persona of Norwegian artist and singer Ingvild Langgård, making music that blends dream folk, wooden instruments, psychedelia, medieval hymns and reversed singing, among other things. Her first album, The Sea was released by hailed independent label Rune Grammofon in january 2011 on white vinyl, cd and streaming/mp3 - a conceptual album being the first part of a forthcoming trilogy. The album tells stories of honeydewed autumns, blackwinged animals, the darkest of hours, and, well; the sea.

La Bottine Souriante

La Bottine Souriante is a folk band from Quebec specialising in traditional Quebecois music, often with a modern twist. Formed in 1976, they have toured extensively through North America and Europe. As well as the traditional accordion, fiddle, guitar, piano and double bass, the band added a four-piece horn section in 1990 which gives an element of jazz to the music. In 1998, they contributed a song to the Canadian Celtic music compilation by The Chieftains, Fire in the Kitchen. The group's name means "the smiling boot", which refers to the appearance of a work boot with worn-out soles.
