The Lorcas

The Lorcas exploded out of the South London music scene in 2007 and their reputation has grown steadily since. Part of the Folk @ The Moon and Easycome Acoustic Club circle, their deeply melodic songs have led to various festival and club appearances. Influenced by the likes of Sufjan Stevens, Elliott Smith, & The Beatles, the Lorcas are Emily C Smith (vocals, guitar & harmonica) & Ruth Jacob (vocals & banjo). They share the songwriting duties and this helps to create their unique sound.

Danny Schmidt

Austin, Texas-based singer-songwriter, Danny Schmidt has been building an enthusiastic (nearly cult-like) following while simultaneously inspiring the admiration of his fellow artists and critical acclaim from industry professionals. He is the real deal, an authentic timeless troubadour in the tradition of Townes Van Zandt, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, and Dave Carter, who delivers his craft with a quiet power, a level of complexity, and an underlying humanity that is truly rare in this age of sound bite marketeering.

Dan Sandman

I began playing the trumpet in the school orchestra. At twelve I gave up on brass because my older brother said, “you’ll get lots of girls if you play the guitar”. After giving up on the guitar two times I finally had a breakthrough when I learnt how to play the melody to Blowin’ in the Wind – third time lucky I’d say! It wasn’t until August 2006 that I truly discovered what Folk Music is. I had traveled up to The Green Man Festival somewhere in the Welsh Countryside by myself. It was here that I encountered Bert Jansch, a guitarist who I’d been told was “as good as Jimi Hendrix”.

Possessed By Paul James

"One-man band Konrad Wert grew up in a Mennonite family, raised by preacher father and a piano player mother, which accounts for both the baptized-in-fire-soul and musical versatility heard in his gritty Old World music. Wert's mix of blues and vintage folk howls with a sense of explosive freedom and latent rage-not unlike an Amish kid emerging from the wilderness to discover America -that instills his simple guitar/fiddle/stomp-box arrangements with unusual passion.
