Here's a recent review: Yup, this is Diesel Witch. If you haven't heard of them before, don't worry: short of that ONE gig I caught of theirs waaay back in August 2008, I'd barely heard of them either! They rarely perform live, at least not that I'm EVER aware of (thanks in no small part to the fact they're utterly crap at promoting themselves) only to be made all the more annoying as a "live band" when you finally DO catch a gig of theirs, only to discover they're nothing short of brilliant..

The Growlers
Take 5 southern california guys, mix in some surf, stone, and psychadelic, throw them in a haunted mansion in west hochiminster and with a little luck, you might get a band like The Growlers. The bands name comes from lead singer, Brooks, and guitarist Moustache Matt. One day Brooks came home and Matt was takin a big growler in the outhouse and the rest is history. Watch some footage of old Wind N Sea Surf Club back in the 70's and you might get a taste of what this band's live shows are like. The Astronauts
Four bands use the name "The Astronauts": 1) Surf band from Colorado in the early 1960's. Their appeal was primarily regional, but their 1963 single "Baja" drew national attention and reached #94 on the Billboard pop charts.
2) A nostalgic surf rock band from Bielefeld, Germany. Their style is instrumental space-surf rock n' roll. The liner notes from their 10" EP "Lost in Space", released in 1993 by Pin Up Records, shed some light on their retro aesthetic: "Do you play your Pin Up Monaural long-play recordings on a Mono phonograph?
