The Name Thing First off, his name is Alun Parry, not Alan Parry. Its not a typo. He was named after former Liverpool striker Alun Evans. There is a football commentator from this neck of the woods called Alan Parry. That's not him. He's just a singer songwriter. The Music He's a prolific singer songwriter from Liverpool and he plays across the North West regularly performing his own music. His music is best described as gritty folk rock laced with social observation. It's footstomping stuff in the main. It mixes a contemporary, urban feel with a strong traditional roots influence.

Omara "Bombino" Moctar, whose given name is Goumar Almoctar, was born on January 1st, 1980 in Tidene, Niger, an encampment of nomadic Tuaregs located about 80 kilometers to the northeast of Agadez. He is a member of the Ifoghas tribe, which belongs to the Kel Air Tuareg federation. His father is a car mechanic and his mother takes care of the home, as is the Tuareg tradition. Bombino was raised as a Muslim and taught to consider honor, dignity and generosity as principal tenets of life.

Orchestra Baobab
Orchestre Baobab is a Senegalese band formed 1970 in Dakar, Senegal as a multi-ethnic, multi-national club band. Put together by saxophonist Baro N'Diaye, original members included singers Balla Sidibe, Rudy Gomis, and Laye Mboup; guitarists Barthelemy Attisso and Latfi Ben Geloune; bassist Charlie N’Diaye; drummer Mountaga Koite; and saxophonist Issa Cissokho. Ndiouga Dieng and Medoune Diallo sometimes sat in with the band, and personnel changed frequently. Later, singer Thione Seck and his younger brother Mapenda Seck joined the band.
