Norma Winstone

Norma Ann Winstone (born 23 September 1941, in Bow, East London) is a British jazz singer and lyricist. In a career spanning over forty years she is best known for her wordless improvisations. Winstone began singing in bands around Dagenham in the early 1960s, before joining Michael Garrick's band in 1968. Her first recording came the following year, with Joe Harriott. She recorded one album under her own name in 1972. [1]

There are more than one artist who have recorded under this name. 1) Post-punk band who made the single "In the Army" on Absurd Records in 1979 and an album on Trans Universal Records in 1981. They also contributed a track on the Some Bizarre Album. Members were Ian Smith, Vicky Jones, Chris Andrews, Martin Croxford and Peter Wiggins. 2) Sensational band often described as the most fun you can have with your clothes on.
