Abdoujaparov, the band of Les Carter (the Unstoppable Sex Machine) Abdoujaparov's musical foundations are the joyous and shambolic influences of 1977 punk rock. The music is raucous, fast and sometimes a bit country. The lyrics are rude, tender, funny and sometimes just plain bad. So far seven EPs and two albums 'Air Oden Disco Pub' and 'Cycle Riot History Gang' have been released on Spinach Records. A compilation CD featuring tracks from the first 3 EPs was released by Pop Gun in Australia. The band has toured the UK, Germany, Australia and America.
Jim Bob was born James Robert Morrison in the city of London, on 22 November 1960. He changed his name because he did not want to be mistaken for, in his own words, "a fat, dead, crap poet" - ie the former singer of The Doors. He played in various bands during the 1980s, one of which was Jamie Wednesday, who were performing between 1985 and 1987. In 1987 Jamie Wednesday split up just before a gig at the Astoria in London. Morrison and Les Carter aka 'Fruitbat' filled in playing along to a backing tape and thus Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine was born.
