My name’s Aidan Simpson and I come from West Dorset. I’m a young singer/songwriter. I’ve been writing songs since I was eleven or twelve, and have been doing local and more widely-spread gigs for three years. In those three years I’ve played in lots of local places and not-so-local places like: Colston Hall, Bristol; The Underworld, Camden; Café 1001, Brick Lane as well as a variety of pubs and smaller venues dotted around the broad south-west of England.
Recently, I recorded in Toybox Studios, Bristol, with Alex Lee (of Placebo and Goldfrapp) playing the banjo for me, and John Parish (world-famous producer and musician) creating and playing a drum kit for me.
Alex later accompanied me to a session I got asked to record for BBC Introducing.
I was also a part of the South West Music Fringe 2010, which took place predominantly in Bristol.
I play a mixture of my own original songs (which are influenced by many styles such as folk, country and indie) to a wide variety of covers which range from the Kinks to Pulp.
