The Deadbeats

There are, at least, four bands known as The Deadbeats: 1) An early punk band 2) A UK group. 3) A Swedish rock group. 4) A funky, jazzy hip-hop band currently residing in Honolulu Hawaii. 1) An early LA art punk band on the legendary Dangerhouse Records label. In 1978 they released their first and only EP titled Kill The Hippies. Members: Scott Guerin (vocals), Geza X (of Geza X and the Mommymen - guitar), Pat Delaney (of BPeople & The Romans - sax), Pasquale Amadeo (bass) & Shaun Guerin (drums).

DeFex

The Defex were put together in 1977 as The Mutilators in Boulder, CO and were notoriously known as a high impact punk band. Their classic 7 inch featuring "Psycho Surfer" and "Machine Gun Love" was pressed in 1979 and has become highly collectible. They're also featured on the Killed By Death series and a full album, "Beyond Machine Gun Love", pressed in Italy.

Stranglehold

Stranglehold were a Punk band from Boston. They started in 1982 and broke up in 1984,in between they released one 12 inch and one 45 rpm for Taang! Records, they toured the country with The F.U.'S who they shared a practice space with and also played with the likes of the Circle Jerks, Suicidal Tendencies, Dr Know,Iron Cross, Marginal Man, 45 Grave and TSOL.. The Detours

There are two bands named ´The Detours´; one from Australia, and one from Scotland, living in harmony on opposite sides of the globe. ´THE DETOURS´ BAND FROM AUSTRALIA: The Detours are from the Blue Mountains just outside of Sydney, Australia. In 2005, Inspired by the saddening lack of 'roll' in the contemporary world of rock'n'roll, Josh Lynch and Robby Dalitz saw no morally justifiable option other than to create a band, a band that would inject the 'roll' back into forefront of our rock'n'roll imaginations.

Lockjaw

There is more than one Lockjaw: 1) Lockjaw was formed in Portland, Oregon around 1980 by Del Murry (guitar), Tony Arcudi (vocals), Eric Couch (bass), and Rob Parker (drums)... the band played clubs like The Met, 13th Precinct, and the Satyricon in the early days. By 1984 drummer Rob Parker was replaced with Jeremy J., and guitarist Garrett Garitano was added to the lineup. By that time Lockjaw was labeled "Portland's most hated band."

The Rivals

As always, there seems to be more than one group with a name like this 1)The Rivals were a UK punk band from Ramsgate, in existence from 1976-1981. Originally formed by childhood friends Mark Edwards (guitar, vocals) and Paul Leinster (bass, vocals), they soon added Mark Hebden (drums). The most well known lineup for the band, and the one that produced the vast majority of music that you can find from them, came about when Hebden left the band, to be replaced by Paul Daley on drums.

The Simpletones

The Simpletones, a California group whose releases first appeared on Posh Boy Records beginning in 1978 and with recordings contained in compilations released on other labels in multiple countries. They are, perhaps, best known as one of the 3 groups contained on the 1979 seminal compilation album Beach Blvd., the other 2 groups being Rik L Rik (Negative Trend, and F-Word) and The Crowd. In the book "We Got The Neutron Bomb "The Untold Story of L.A. Punk", Robbie Fields outlines his journey "scouring for younger, fresher talent" in the suburbs of Los Angeles.

Shipwrecked

1. Norways Shipwrecked (NOT to be confused with the American band called Shipwreck) is a band including members from Onward, Enforcer, Common Cause, Insurance Risk and Award. They put out a demo in 2004, a 7" EP in 2005 and after several years' hiatus an LP entitled "The Last Pagans" in early 2012. 2.
