Odin Dragonfly

Odin Dragonfly are an acoustic duo made up of Heather Findlay (vocals, acoustic guitars, penny whistles and percussion) and Angela Gordon (vocals, piano and flute). They formed the band in 2005 as side-project of Mostly Autumn at a time when both Angela and Heather were still members of that band. Their music relies heavily on vocal harmonies and defies easy pigeonholing, but they have cited Kate Bush, Stevie Nicks, Joni Mitchell, Tori Amos and Sandy Denny as influences.

Carnival Kids

***Last.fm scrobbles a different band hence incorrect tags and similar artists.
this is the info you're after: Eric Molumby, Andreas Westhagen, John Stark and Jethro Fox formed Carnival Kids in the autumn of 2010. Bewildering, brassy and ungoverned, these four boys who all met in Liverpool, are to be watched closely.
There is no permanence in their music; there are no regulations in their style, Carnival Kids hold to no boundaries. If only you would give them a listen.

Afternaut

Afternaut is the latest project from the Liverpool based musician, Adam Rowley. For the past decade Adam has been involved with various music projects, initially starting off playing guitar in bands. But it wasn’t until 2004, while studying Film and TV at university, where he was introduced to sound manipulation using computers with effects and synthesis. This interest led to working on sound for film projects at university. Not only recording sound but also creating soundtracks. Since 2006, Adam has also been a sound designer/audio producer for the games industry.

Idle Jack And The Big Sleep

Idle Jack & the Big Sleep truely represents a culmination of varied and diverse musical styles and interests. This is particularly evident in the number of pidgeon holes that have been stuffed into lately by audience and reviewer alike. If you threw all of these comparisons together, you would probably come across an amalgam of Captain Beefheart, Pearl Jam, Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Muse(!?), Mogwai, The Doors(!!!) and a couple of others that can't be remembered (possibly because of their absurdity!).

Marbled

Pirate rockin' acoustic troubador! marbled, acoustic songwriter from the North Eastern parts of England. High slung guitar like a chip on the shoulder, throttling out the last breath of each couplet lyric like it might be the last. Punching all the loose notes into a tight melody and performing songs of style ranging from flawed folk to cordened in riot scenes. Sung and strung in stream of conscious tongues, deftly pick pocketed ideas others too lazily executed, then moulding each one into a jack in the box of ideas and originality.

Battle Lines

Between the seams lies love, loss and purgatory. Dark and cerebral; we come unarmed. Battle Lines (previously Alvin Purple!) are dirty. Dirty in a good way. Their debut double A Side released last year created waves across the blog-sphere, blending an irresistible pop melody with 'foot to the ribcage' beats and a soaring sonic landscape. Favorites with Tom Robinson on BBC 6music, they combine chanteuse elements of Lykke Li with TV on the Radio beats...
