Emancipator

To some, it must seem like this young electronic producer came out of nowhere. Emancipator (Douglas Appling) played his first live show in July 2009, opening for Bonobo at the Roseland Theater (cap. 1500). Since then, he’s toured with Bassnectar, drawn crowds at festivals like Trinumeral and Symbiosis, and closed out Sound Tribe Sector 9’s late night parties in Denver at the request of the band.

He's a rock singer-turned-DJ who fronts the world's only mashup band. She's a party girl-turned-DJ who helped create the biggest mashup club in the world. Together, they're "rebel DJs" Adrian & the Mysterious D. Known mostly as the couple who helped bring mashup culture to America, the duo have forged a reputation as crowd-pleasing selectors who not only shamelessly bridge the gap between genres, but between the alternative and the mainstream. This is best evidenced by the success of their club Bootie, the first mashup bootleg party in the United States.

Tor

There are multiple artists that go by the name TOR. (1) Tor was raised in a small mountain town on Canada's west coast where he started experimenting with music production as a teenager. He further honed his skills while living in Australia, running a small recording studio and remixing some prominent Australian producers. He later produced the Sufjan Stevens hip hop mashup album 'Illinoize', which garnered a lot of critical and audience acclaim.

The White Panda

The White Panda is a mash-up/remix duo made up of Tom Evans (aka Procrast) and Dan Griffith (aka DJ Griffi) based out of Chicago and Los Angeles. Panda formed in early 2009 after the duo decided to collaborate on their independent efforts. The two have been composing and producing music together on and off for about 7 years but just recently started focusing primarily on mash-ups. Most of The White Panda’s live sets are hosted by colleges although they can be caught at the occasional bar as well.
