The Nomad

New Zealand producer Daimon Schwalger has released music under the name The Nomad for many years. The first album Movement was drum'n'bass, but subsequent releases have been releases with (obligatory in New Zealand) influences. Prior to his solo project he was performing drum'n'bass as part of trio Locust with Pearl Runga (sister of Bic Runga) and Ryan Smith (aka The Silversmith). They had no official releases.

The Black Seeds

The Black Seeds are a band from Wellington, New Zealand. Formed in 1998, The Black Seeds fuse dub, reggae and funk sounds to form a unique musical "party" sound. They usually perform with ten members, with instruments including vocals, guitar, saxophone, trumpet, bass, drums, bongos, keyboard, woodblock and more.

Bored Games

There is more than 1 artist called Bored Games: 1 - Bored Games are a power pop punk band from Milwaukee, Wisconsin comprised of members from Lefty Loosie. So far they've released a 10" ep on Repulsion called "Party 'til You Puke". 2 - Bored Games was a short lived but legendary early 80's outfit from the musically influential city of Dunedin, New Zealand. They released one great EP (which is now incredibly hard to track down) which contained the classic track - Joe 90. Shayne Carter - later of the successfull Dunedin band Straightjacket Fits - was the vocalist.

The Stones

The Stones - named cheekily after The Rolling Stones - were a band from Dunedin in New Zealand. One of the earliest bands to record on the Flying Nun label, they helped form the style of music known as the Dunedin Sound. The Stones split up not long after its release, although all members of the band went on to success in other local bands. Most important of these was Wayne Elsey's time in The DoubleHappys, a band which itself led to the formation of Straitjacket Fits.

3Ds

The 3Ds were an alternative pop/rock band from Dunedin, New Zealand, together from 1988 to 1997. The band was made up of: * Dominic Stones — drums, tea
* Denise Roughan — bass, keyboards, tambourine, vocals
* David Saunders — guitar, vocals
* David Mitchell — guitar, mandolin, vocals All had been in other New Zealand bands, Stones was in Snapper and Roughan had been in Look Blue Go Purple. The band drifted apart after releasing their final album, Strange News from the Angels in 1997. Mitchell and Roughan soon moved to London, where they went on to form the Ghost Club.

Ladi 6

Ladi6 (Karoline Tamati) is New Zealands premier female vocalist MC. She is renowned for her energetic live performances, sublime soulful vocals and conscious lyrics. She is currently recording her debut solo album, yet she has cemented herself as a key player in the New Zealand music scene.Ladi6 started her musical career as part of New Zealands first all-girl hip-hop group Sheelahroc. Sheelahroc had the hit track If I Gave You The Mic and from the success of this track Ladi6 was nominated for Best Vocalist/MC at the 2003 bNet music awards.
