DeVotchKa is a four piece multi-instrumental and vocal ensemble that fuses Romani, Greek, Slavic, and Bolero, music with American punk and folk roots. They take their name from Anthony Burgess' Nadsat (the self created language of 'A Clockwork Orange's main character, Alex) word for "young girl," which is itself derived from the Russian word devochka(девочка) of the same meaning. Little Annie, also known as Annie Anxiety Bandez (also 'Little Annie Anxiety Bandez') is a singer, painter, and stage actor, perhaps most widely known for her vampish performance of the song 'Things Happen', with the band Coil. She has recorded extensively with vanguard figures of late twentieth century music such as rock musician Kid Congo Powers, dub stalwart Adrian Sherwood, punk/experimental band Crass, and experimental/electronica band Coil, an entity that had its origins in the first Industrial Rock band, Throbbing Gristle.

There are, at least, two artists known as Andrew Gordon, both Scottish: 1) A songwriter. 2) A folk singer. 1) A Scottish songwriter, based in Portsmouth, UK. Born in a modern-day barn, out of sight & near some small animals - a desperation to learn the ways of the ivories manifested itself, in the mind of the child & in quick succession song-worthy events occurred.
