Stephen Marley

Stephen Robert Nesta Marley, (born April 20, 1972 in Wilmington, Delaware; raised primarily in Kingston, Jamaica) is a reggae artist and a son of Bob Marley and reggae singer Rita Marley. Stephen is a five-time Grammy award winner as artist, producer and recording engineer. As child and teenager, he was a member of Ziggy Marley & The Melody Makers. His debut album Mind Control was released 20 March 2007.

Hanggai

"Hanggai is made up of young musicians from Beijing and from the Chinese province of Inner Mongolia and their interpretations of traditional songs from the grasslands have attracted quite a following over the last few years. The word ‘hanggai’ is ancient Mongolian, describing an idealised grassland landscape of mountains, trees, rivers and blue skies. Hanggai’s leader, Ilchi, was fronting a punk band until he experienced a conversion after hearing traditional overtone singing.

Sweet Honey In The Rock

Sweet Honey in the Rock is an all-woman, African-American a cappella ensemble that has been producing music for more than thirty years. Although the members of the group have changed over time, the music of Sweet Honey in the Rock has consistently combined contemporary rhythms and narratives with a musical style rooted in the gospel music, spirituals and hymns of the Black church. Sweet Honey in the Rock was founded in 1973 by Bernice Johnson Reagon who formed the group out of the strongest singers from a vocal workshop she was teaching with the D.

Luca Turilli's Rhapsody is the name of the new band of the Italian composer Luca Turilli due to the friendly split between Luca Turilli and Alex Starpoli (main composers of the bands Rhapsody and Rhapsody of Fire). The addition of Luca's name before Rhapsody is due to the same legal reasons of the past not allowing him to use the word Rhapsody alone. Djelimady Tounkara

Djelimady Tounkara is a Malian musician and one of the foremost guitarists in Africa. Born in the culturally rich town of Kita, east of the Malian capital, Bamako, Djelimady grew up surrounded with traditional music played by members of his family. The Tounkaras are Griots, musicians and historians by birth. Djelimady played djembe drum and xalam, a banjo-like lute, as a boy. When he moved to Mali's capital, Bamako, during the 1960s, he had actually planned to work as a tailor. But music proved a stronger calling.
