Faris Badwan, frontman for UK indie rockers The Horrors, has a new project: Cat's Eyes, a duo with the Canadian opera soprano and multi-instrumentalist Rachel Zeffira. The group specializes in a glassy, symphonic take on girl-group pop, and they played their first show in December in a pretty unusual place: St. Peter's Basilica at the Vatican, during an afternoon mass "attended by seven high-ranking cardinals," according to a press release. Slowdive is a dream pop/shoegaze band that formed in 1989 in Reading, England, United Kingdom. Signed to Creation Records in 1990 and initially championed by the British music press, the band scored a UK top forty entry with their debut album Just for a Day. The band consists of Rachel Goswell (vocals/guitar), Neil Halstead (vocals/guitar), Nick Chaplin (bass), Christian Savill (guitar), and Simon Scott (drums, 1990-1994, 2014-present); additionally, Ian McCutcheon replaced Scott from 1994-1995. Goswell and Halstead had known each other since early childhood in Reading, Berkshire.
Barzin is a Canadian singer-songwriter named Barzin Hosseini. Slow and melancholic, introspective and confessional: These words in some ways describe the sound of Barzin. A project that began sometime in 1995, Barzin was a solo endeavor at its inception. But somewhere along the way it shed its solitary skin allowing a wide array of characters into it’s sound. From amongst a rotating cast of musicians, who occasionally made appearances on recordings and at performances, three individuals slowly became a fixture of this project.
Be Forest is a three-piece post-punk band from Pesaro, Italy formed in 2010.
Lineup consists of: Costanza Delle Rose (bass, vocals), Erica Terenzi (drums, guitar, vocals), Nicola Lampredi (drums, guitars).
Their sound is a characteristic mixture of post-punk with coldwave and ethereal wave.
Their debut album Cold. was released in 2011 by label We Were Never Being Boring.
Deaf Center are collaborators Erik Skodvin (AKA Svarte Greiner, Xhale, Solitaire Albread) and Otto Totland (AKA Supine, Nest), operating out of Norway since 2003. Underground avant-garde alternative rock band of the 1980s and 1990s. Originally based in Amherst, Massachusetts at Hampshire College, and at times also based in New York City, Seattle and Los Angeles. Arose in the same college musical scene that gave birth to Dinosaur Jr and also associated with the early grunge movement, especially the Seattle grunge bands including Nirvana. Known for four albums, very noisy concerts and band members' disputatious and disruptive attitude.
D. Roy is an indie folk solo project by David Roy, guitarist of Glasgow band Dananananaykroyd. An album, Bird Drums, was released in July 2010 through Bandcamp.
Silbermond is a German rock band from Bautzen. The band originally formed in 1998 under the name Jast, which comes from the first letters of the band members' names (Johannes, Andreas, Stefanie, Thomas). In 2001, they changed their name to Silbermond ("Silver moon"). As opening act for Jeanette Biedermann, they became increasingly popular in Germany and Austria. They released their first album "Verschwende deine Zeit" ("Waste your time") in 2004. In late 2004 they went on tour, publishing their first concert DVD "Verschwende Deine Zeit - Live" in April 2005, which reached gold status.

SISU is Sandra Vu. The LA-based singer/multi-instrumentalist layers airy, harmony-laden vocals over dreamy synthwave, which has been described as “Smithsian shoegaze” (Village Voice) and “Nightmarish Beach House” (Santa Barbara Independent). Though she’s a seasoned drummer (Dum Dum Girls, The Raveonettes, Boredoms, Dirty Beaches), she’s stepped out from behind the kit to center stage for SISU, opening on tour dates for Cat Power, Marnie Stern, DIIV, and Metronomy.
