What words can describe the one and only DJ Funk? Pioneer? Party Rocker? Ghetto House Icon? Let's start at the beginning, DJ Funk grew up on the musically rich West Side of Chicago where he was exposed at an early age to Chicago, New York & Detroit dance music. Developing from his early influences he started DJing out when he was just a teenager at house parties, school dances, and neighborhood clubs; selling mix tapes in the hood with his former crew "do or die" to make ends meet.

Now in San Francisco, Moralez began playing records at Rebecca's weekly at The Top, as well as at Liquid, and other DJ bars. It wasn't long before he got his own residency on Fridays at The Top, playing alongside Buck, Miguel Migs, Lance Desardi, J.T. Donaldson, Wally Callerio, Joeski, Onionz, the Idjut Boys, Joshua Iz, Solar, Mark E. Quark, John Howard, Simon DK, Steve Loria, Jeno, Tony, Gene Farris, Mark Ambrose, Pepe Bradock, Alexi Delano, Evil Eddie Richards, Gemini, and many other renown producers.

At an early age, DJ Ease (Angelo Simpson) was moved by Hiphop culture. At age 17, he began making scratch tapes and circulating them in Rush Henrietta high school in Rochester, New York. These tapes garnered him local recognition as one of Rochester’s premiere up and coming musical talents. This buzz and recognition grew exponentially when he began not only competing in, but dominating the DJ battle scene.

As a small child he spent his days building snow forts and fishing for king salmon on the Russian River just north of Alyeska. Samuel grew up in the christian non-denominational cult known as Gospel Outreach. He was allowed to listen only to christian music. 23 Skidoo

23 Skidoo cross , , , , and elements. The band had interests in martial arts, and drumming, Fela Kuti, The Last Poets, William S. Burroughs, as well as the emerging confluence of industrial music, and funk. 23 Skidoo was formed in North London, UK in 1979 as a post-punk trio. By 1980 they had grown into a quartet consisting of Fritz Catlin, Johnny Turnbull, Sam Mills and Patrick Griffiths.
