There are at least two Bands named Ligeia - both inspired from a novel of Edgar Allan Poe: A metalcore band from Massachusetts, USA and a female fronted traditional metal band from Ulm, Germany.
1) The Massachusetts Ligeia was formed in late 2003 by Keith Holuk (vocals), (former member) Phil Fonseca (drums) and Ryan Ober (guitar). With the addition of bassist (former member) Matthew Bennett, and guitar player Chris Keane in late 2004 / early 2005 completed this young band lineup and perfected their already devastating sound.
There are seven bands with the same name:

Brad from Seattle, Washington, USA formed officially in 1992 (though the members had been playing together for a long time before that) and in 1993 released their debut album Shame. Brad includes 4 friends from the Seattle area who are musicians, including Stone Gossard (of Pearl Jam fame), Regan Hagar (former member of an early grunge band Malfunkshun), Shawn Smith (also a member of Pigeonhed and Satchel) and Jeremy Toback also of Ons.
Ade formed in Caput Mundi, Italy in 2007 by Messor (guitars) and recruits Claudio (drums) and later Flavio (Vocals). Inspired by the Ancient Roman Empire and fusing with modern and very impactive death metal with lyrics written in English and ancient Latin language, ADE's goal is to bring the listener right into the Coliseum! American Head Charge, the Minneapolis-based metal band, which had its genesis when Cameron Heacock and Chad Hanks crossed paths in a Minnesota rehab facility in 1997, has up to now been known primarily for the radically dysfunctional behavior of the band members. "We were definitely out of control on our first tour, Ozzfest 2001," Mr. Banks admits. "It wasn't enough to just play our music; we also had to fire shotguns on stage and throw pigheads at the crowd.
In Malice's Wake are a four piece Thrash Metal band from Melbourne, Australia. It was formed in 2002, and as of yet they have written one demo, one EP and a full length entitled 'Eternal Nightfall' which was released in late 2008. The band are currently unsigned, but have a good fan base which is steadily building.
